In 2006, Wheeler joined New Jersey rock band Outside the Box which achieved local and regional notoriety by performing with or opening for many national acts. Outside the Box was named the house band at
From 2014-2016, Wheeler toured and played bass for Before You Exit internationally. They toured with Fifth Harmony, The Vamps, and Christina Grimmie throughout his tenure as well as performing at iHeartRadio Music Festival and Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade
In 2016 he, along with Chris Greatti, Aaron Deming, and Sam Palombo formed the New York/New Jersey based rock band Blame Candy
As of February 2020, Wheeler has been touring with David Lee Roth on KISS' End of the Road World Tour.
