The article concerns a major metropolitan police force. While a mention of the existence of a gift shop may be warranted, devoting 15% of the word count to it and adding contact numbers, hours of operation, staff members, descriptions of the facility and trivia is inappropriate and promotional. Expansion of this article should focus on the police force, not the merchandise. Acroterion (talk) 19:06, 2 December 2009 (UTC)

Ottawa Police Service
I noticed you are making many edits to this article. Please use the edit summaries to describe what you do in each edit. that will help other editors. For example, in this edit you introduced a reference name "RCMP organisation". This reference is broken at the moment. Could you please tell me where you got it from, so that I may fix it? Thank you, Debresser (talk) 16:09, 24 December 2009 (UTC)
- I've left some notes concerning the article at Talk:Ottawa Police Service. You might want to step back and consider whether some of this is appropriate for an encyclopedia. I appreciate your efforts to expand the article, but it's starting to look like a webpage for the OPS, rather than an encyclopedia article on the OPS. Acroterion (talk) 19:41, 22 February 2010 (UTC)
- I'd strongly suggest that you avoid the use of the first and second persons ("we", "you") in writing for an encyclopedia. You may also wish to consider whether you're putting in too much detail, particularly for the current organizational structure and current events, and ignoring the history of the service. You are clearly associated with the OPS and must be conservative in writing about the OPS. Acroterion (talk) 20:06, 22 February 2010 (UTC)
