A tag has been placed on

criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable
.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria

for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Ozgod 19:38, 5 August 2007 (UTC)[reply

Maps of Bergen

Great maps of the boroughs of Bergen. I have uploaded them to commons and used them on :no and :nn. By the way. You can make an internal link to an image by typing : first in the link tag. E.g. Image:Arna-map.png. Rettetast 18:22, 12 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A small stub request...

Hi Aqwis - good to see a number of new articles on Norwegian geography. Could I ask one small favour though? If you make any more, instead of marking them with {{geo-stub}}, it'll save a bit of work later if you either add {{Norway-geo-stub}} or the geo-stub for the specific county (as listed in Category:Norway geography stubs). {{Geo-stub}} is really only used as a temporary stub type now, since all countries have their own specific geo-stub types. Cheers - and keep up the good work :) Grutness...wha? 00:26, 28 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

todo in Bergen

There is a lot of great images on flickr that we can use on the Bergen article. Here is a link to images of Bergen that can be used on wikipedia. Is this a better alternative for the article. I also found this and this and this. Rettetast 22:19, 31 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Norwegian schools

Thanks for your input on the Norwegian schools. I was the one who did all the original assessments of the Norwegian schools. The top and high importance assessments are all reported on the schools assessment page at

‎Trondheim katedralskole because the article was very short. The alumni were not international names and there was very little information in the existing article to tell us much about the school. A top importance rating might well be justified but I think some more content is really necessary and more information about the alumni as the claim will otherwise be hard to justify, especially as all the top importance articles are listed on the Wikipedia:WikiProject Schools Page
. Does that seem fair? It would be great if you could help to improve some of these Norwegian school articles as they all sound really interesting. Dahliarose 15:51, 16 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. One thing to keep in mind: the cathedral schools may be said to be slightly prestigous schools in their own city, but they certainly do not draw students from all over the country.
Oslo katedralskole
is not really different from any other school, apart from its reputation in the Oslo area. To be honest, I'd argue that none of the schools are important enough to justify being Top-priority! The reason why all those famous people have attended the cathedral schools, isn't because they're better schools than any other school, but because for centuries, the cathedral schools were the only schools in Norway, and the schools' reputations have continued into the modern age as schools where the "intellectually minded" gather. And since the quality of education isn't noteworthy higher at the cathedral schools than at any other upper secondary school, and isn't what draws people to the school, i'd say the alumni shouldn't decide the importance of the schools in the Schools WikiProject.
Anyway, i've cleaned up
Armauer Hansen, Christian Michelsen, Nordahl Grieg and Helge Ingstad are famous in Norway, but not internationally of course. --Aqwis 16:46, 16 September 2007 (UTC)[reply
