Calling edits vandalism

Dear Bahaltener,

Recently, you have referred to edits I have made as vandalism. See [1] [2]. According to

selfedit in DRN Jolla talk

Selfedit: I am sorry I have written For me it is OK. thx and night, will be put into article by Monday night, but not tomorrow. It was great pleasure to meet you! :)
WP:SOURCES. Dark Almöhi claims the Mer has the text console so this is Linux operating system full distribution. But no normal customer would be able to make any single call or SMS check having only Linux text console with prompt, so s/he would have to call libraries one by one and define a phone number as a parameter for libraries, etc. etc. So we can assume we have agreed the first part but the last part have not been solved. Sorry, but I see no other solution, to avoid future problems. Ocexyz (talk) 09:14, 26 August 2012 (UTC) Ocexyz (talk) 10:37, 26 August 2012 (UTC)[reply

Note about minor edits

Hi, I noticed that you've marked a few of your recent edits to

WP:MINOR, only edits that change the formatting or presentation of the content (not the content itself) and are unlikely to be disputed should be marked as minor. Quote, "any change that affects the meaning of an article is not minor". The edits I linked to definitely change the meaning of the article (adding or removing significant amounts of content), and so should not have been marked as minor. Please keep that policy in mind when editing Wikipedia. Thanks! Indrek (talk) 08:54, 3 January 2013 (UTC)[reply

This must be a bug in the visual editor, since I didn't explicitly use "minor edit" setting. I was going to go back to the regular editor for now anyway. Thanks for pointing out! Bahaltener (talk) 15:01, 3 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I just replaced the list of cases section with an expanded paragraph incorporating relevant cases as per

WP:PROSE. Your thoughts and suggestions on my edit are welcome. Thanks, RJaguar3 | u | t 13:58, 1 November 2013 (UTC)[reply
]

I see several problems with this change: 1. For some reason you removed the whole section about vendors violating consumer protection laws, this has nothing to do with
WP:PROSE. 2. Those cases have value for those who research the legal precedents. I see no stylistic problem with keeping the list in the article, but if you don't like it, you can make another page with that list and reference it from here directly. It's not proper to just remove the list of valuable information on stylistic grounds. That paragraph you added is not a substitute of the full list. I suggest you revert the changes back, and if you want to avoid long lists, transfer the list to another page, and reference it from here. -- Bahaltener (talk

Hi Bahaltener,

I know you've contributed a lot to Bundling of Microsoft Windows. I've overhauled the article in the past six months, and perhaps you'd be interested in taking a look at the changes or making new edits or ideas. Also, I was planning on redoing the Secure Boot section to incorporate better and more recent sources, which perhaps you would like to help with. Replaceable fair use File:Christy Marx.png

Thanks for uploading File:Christy Marx.png. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to
    Di-replaceable fair use disputed
    |<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. -- Marchjuly (talk) 05:25, 14 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I can try contacting Christy herself, and check who owns that photo exactly. — Bahaltener (talk) 05:28, 14 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Bahaltener. If the photographer who took the photo agrees to
Wikimedia OTRS saying they do, then it might be possible to convert this to a free license; otherwise, there's really no good way to justify pretty much any copyright-protected image of Marx for use on Wikipedia.
Another possibility would be for someone to create a free equivalent image of Marx to serve the same encyclopedic purpose. Perhaps she can have someone she knows simply take her photograph, and then have that person upload it directly to Wikimedia Commons per c:COM:UPLOAD as their own work. They shouldn't post it online anywhere since that will likely complicate things a bit (at least not unitl after it's been uploaded to Commons), but just upload it to Commons. If they upload the photo in the highest resolution possible with the original Exif data under one of the licenses accepted by Commons per c:Commons:Licensing, things should be fine. -- Marchjuly (talk) 05:55, 14 November 2018 (UTC)[reply
