Pictures

Hi Thank you for your recent edit to the page Melvin Moss. I'm still trying to learn how to make the articles much better. I've created 40 or so articles about the biographies of many Orthodontists in the past. There are many pictures I know which are available out there but I feel that adding pictures through Wikipedia is a very tedious job. Do you have any recommendations? I'd love to add pictures to each article I've created, as I am a firm follower of Wikipedia Dentistry Project and want to create more articles on Dentistry. Thank you

@
Hgcool23: Hi! Actually I was just reading the article and wanted to help so I googled Dr. Moss and found there was a picture of him already on here. I don't really know anything about dentistry. My recommendation is the main thing you want to do to make really good articles is citation - just make sure you use the 'cite' option at the top of the edit window to give sources a title, source and a refname which means you can use the same source in multiple locations. That and citing Dr. Moss's most notable papers and any textbooks he wrote in the article would be great. But I actually don't write new pages that much - try running drafts past the Teahouse project before you submit them and they can often suggest improvements. I'm not sure if this is where I leave a message or not, but I blanked out the Worcester Pride page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by James Yocom (talkcontribs) 16:10, 19 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

remarks on french athletic stadium article

Hi there,

Thanks for your comments on my french to english translation of a french athletic stadium

There does seem to be a lot of HTML trash around dates and numbers in the frwiki. And I'll try to remember about putting the references after the periods.

Thanks Again

Endo999 (talk) 19:55, 20 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Endo999: Hey, no problem. What I did was mostly just look at the raw text and use find and replace to remove all double spaces, then find and manually remove all 'span' sections. And changed the title of the references section to just 'References' which is standard. Blythwood (talk) 20:09, 20 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Nahla Rowe music on other streaming services too

I just wanted to notify you that the "Nahla Rowe" music isn't just on iTunes. According to the Twitter feed she's on the Tidal streaming service, and following the links from there took me here: http://listen.tidal.com/artist/7471622

She on Spotify too: https://open.spotify.com/artist/2chKMOIiIaSkE7xnB3k1Rz

@NorwegianBlue: - Oh goodness. Can we be bothered to even report this or should we just see it as their own stupid fault for not running it through a recognition system? Apparently this has been done before - look at the case of Joyce Hatto (New Yorker feature) - but seriously I can't believe the amount of work this must have taken to organise. I really hope we don't see more like this. Also, check out the latest update from this fine artiste's twitter feed: 'Happy ☺️'. Aren't we all. Blythwood (talk) 23:06, 21 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I've written a Facebook message to https://www.facebook.com/reese.cromwell to alert her about the situation. There doesn't appear to have been much real activity on the Facebook page however, the last pretty picture was posted in August, so she might not read it. I didn't find any obvious place on Spotify (or their web-pages) to report it, only a form to report if my copyrights had been violated. I believe the Twitter account you linked to was the same I checked an hour ago, no? Seems to have been emptied, and what happended to all the followers?... --NorwegianBlue talk 23:58, 21 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
That's just Twitter's look on the webpage: they don't show content behind the tweet until you go to the main page. They haven't cleared out the Twitter page. (Wonder how it's operated - bot to spew out banalities mostly? They've tried hard enough to put in tweets referring to her supposed alma mater and about being 'in the studio', and they've been running it since the 5th. This is getting rather big, here's Nahla Rowe on Microsoft: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/search/result.aspx?q=Nahla+Rowe&form=music

Wikimandia emailed iTunes but honestly I can't be bothered. BTW (repeating what I said to her) I've now been alerted to a Buzzfeed article about what seems to be the same crew active this summer. The good news is that SPI has concluded and everything's been deleted. Best of all, we can now see that sockpuppet Logicequalslogical participated in deletion discussions on non-notable musicians - and often voted delete! Sounds like they were trying to pick up experience at sounding convincing. Damn these guys are good. Blythwood (talk) 09:40, 22 December 2015 (UTC)[reply

Yes, obviously the same crew. Even the same lady, Sherese Cromwell, used as the "artist". I've tried notifying the real artist, Katharine McPhee, on Twitter, #nahlarowescam. --NorwegianBlue talk 10:42, 22 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

'thick and strokes'

Hi, I made a change to the Serif article. You added a sentence containing the phrase "thick and strokes", which didn't make sense to me. I changed it to "thick and thin strokes", because that's the closest common thing that would make sense. If you think I made an error, please feel free to change it back (and if "thick" is a noun in typography jargon, a clarification would be helpful). Thank you for your contribution. --BurritoBazooka (talk) 18:15, 23 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Yup, me being stupid. Thought I'd corrected it early today. Thanks. Blythwood (talk) 18:18, 23 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
