Hi Bumm, would you please consider using Wikimedia Commons for all your future uploads you have created yourself? That way all your images can be used in all other projects of the Wikimedia Foundation, instead of what I see currently happening, them being copied all over the place. Re: Concerns over emulation articles - use of WP:PROD

My intention was to use prodding to bypass the nuisance of many Afds without bypassing the process itself. Regardless of the worthiness of a topic for inclusion, various "keep! THIS IS IMPORTUNT!1!" voters inevitably arrive on the scene. In the case of a prod if these individuals contest it the template is simply removed and that's that, which bypasses all the nuisance of closing Afds full of keep "votes" that sometimes directly contradict policy. Due to my busy life I edit Wikipedia in a sometimes haphazard manner, and while I generally follow through on everything I don't always remember what steps I haven't taken. The final step of prod nomination is only recommended rather than mandatory, but it's usually one I would take anyway. I do apologise for overlooking it.

As for using Companies as the notability guideline, I'm as confused as you are! The guideline for software notability used to be

Wikipedia:Notability (companies and corporations)." According to that page "A ... product ... is notable if it has been the subject of secondary sources

... Notable means "worthy of being noted" or "attracting notice". It is not synonymous with "fame" or "importance" ... consider notable and demonstrable effects on culture, society, entertainment..."

The vast majority of emulators are only written about within the emulation scene, and the vast majority of emulation sites would not fit the definition of reliable secondary sources. Other than the "household names" like MAME and ZSNES it's often extremely difficult to assess how significant a particular emulator actually is in the grand scheme of things because of the lack of proper sources covering them. It is because of this lack of significant evidence outside of that I thought the prodding of these would be relatively uncontroversial.

As for referencing these particular articles, AtariAge is one source I can think of off the top of my head; since their homebrew has been published in compilations such as the Activision Anthology they're surely highly regarded enough to be a "reliable source". If AtariAge has written a whole article about how cool a particular emulator is, that's a great start on showing the "demonstrable effects" of that emulator.

Kimkins Controversy

I thought I had succeeded in satisfying Wikipedia by sourcing this article adequately, and the original "speedy deletion" tags were removed. All was well this afternoon and we were in the clear. As an administrator I have never heard of an entire quality article being deleted without going through the normal articles for deletion process. Perhaps you have some personal issues with the institution as 2 years ago you also deleted the article (since then it has undergone major revisions to remove anything "copyrighted"?? Regardless, I have restored the article to its conditions prior to your unwarranted deletion and undeleted it. Please leave it alone unless you can prove that it is worthy of deletion. I appreciate your handling of the situation with the article Jesuit College Preparatory School of Dallas. I agree with your statement regarding the need for cleaning up the article. I find it does read a bit like an advertisement. As for the issue with the text from the "Profile of a Graduate at Graduation," I am unsure how to go about making them original. They are in essence the tenants of the institution like a mission statement. I apologize for perhaps overreacting to the deletion. I just didn't understand the need to delete it all. I realize that Wikipedia is independent of the school and however they might feel. Given the amount of knowledge of those on campus, i think the school administration was hoping to see the article refined and made more objective by student Wikipedia users. Seeing the article outright deleted when it is one of the first search engine hits for the school was a suprise I suppose though the deletion occurred over a month ago. Please feel free to provide continued constructive edits and suggestions for how the article might be improved. I realize my reinstating of the article was slightly on the careless side and I'm sure that version might not have been the best. Thanks again.
