You should also make yourself a personal sandbox, where you can practice while you're learning the ropes before actually trying to edit an existing article. You can make your sandbox by clicking on CKruserose/Sandbox. Write something in it and then click "Save". Then you can experiment there with writing, citing sources, etc. until you feel more confident

Once you've done the tutorial completely and had some practice in your sandbox, you might want to check out Wikipedia:Adopt-a-user where you can find experienced Wikipedians who can "adopt" newer users, mentoring them along the way as they learn about Wikipedia. The best thing to do is to look for small articles that need a lot of help, then add wikilinks, fix grammar and spelling, etc. until you get the hang of editing -- usually the bad ones benefit from ANY help! Also read

Hi CKruserose. Some months ago, I pointed out that there's no minimum level of activity required to edit Wikipedia. That's as true today as it was then, but in order for an adoption to be successful, some degree of regular editing is required. Since you haven't edited anything for the last three months, I'm inclined to suggest that official adoption isn't ideal for you. As such, I'm going to close the adoption and remove you from my list of adoptees. It's nothing personal, and please don't take it as a criticism (there is nothing wrong with not editing!); it's simply that we're overhauling the adoption process at present and need to expunge inactive adoptees to keep the categories clear.

That said, please feel free to contact me with any questions or problems you have with editing. I'm more than happy to help you out if and when you need a hand, I just don't think that a formal adoption arrangement is going to be particularly beneficial for you.
