What are appropriate references?
I'm an avid reader, so I frequently contribute to pages about books and/or authors. Many of these have "Problem" tags telling us to add references, and I've had over-zealous editors remove my edits, but no-where does anyone tell us what kind of references we should be providing. For example, what kind of reference proves the existence of a specific book or story written by the author? What kind of reference shows that book A comes before or after book B in a series? Could we please get some real, meaningful, useful guidance on how to resolve these issues? 130.167.171.156 (talk) 14:10, 6 January 2021 (UTC)
