Re: The Wrekin

Hi there,

Use the GFDL license for any of your own photos that you would like Wikipedia to use. However, if it's not your own photo, but a photo taken from elsewhere on the internet, it cannot be uploaded to Wikipedia. The next best thing would be to link to it from the article.

And welcome! If you want, you can add [[Category:Wikipedians in Shropshire]] to your userpage and you will then be added to the list of Salopian wikipedians! :)

David.

Your image is superb and should stand alone on the article - play around using the "Show preview" button until you get the best effect! David 20:11, 28 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Yup the Wrekin page is looking pretty good now. If you have any more good images to put on Wikipedia articles (especially Shropshire ones) please do add them! :)

Re: Severn photo

I'm not even sure where that photo is from (!!) - I don't mind where it's used, though I think articles like The Quarry should have it. In fact the Quarry's article needs more photos! David 17:23, 19 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Silly me, I was looking at a different photo! When I said "I'm not even sure where that photo is from" I meant its origin. The one you've taken is good and should be put on to English Bridge, maybe, as an example of the view from that bridge. Though if you have a photo of the bridge itself, that would be better still. Shrewsbury photos

Thanks for the photos - the Dingle one, for example, is superb.

Have you got one of Pride Hill? The Bear Steps? Any of the churches in the town centre?

I have a couple of photos hanging about on my computer too, so I may be able to add a few in the future. David 18:40, 1 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Bear Steps "rather undesirable to walk through"??! Aren't you getting mixed up with Seventy Steps?! David 18:54, 1 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

ShropshireWiki

Hi Chris. I've started a wiki dedicated to Shropshire and would be very pleased to have you add some content to it. [1]

Map of West Midlands Region

Thank you for your efforts in the creation of the map - it looks really good and illustrates the article well. One thought springs to mind, however - you show settlements with a red dot, but Sandwell isn't a settlement but a local goverment district in the same way as you mark "Telford" instead of "Telford and Wrekin". Is there any chance of a slight update - perhaps using West Bromwich? Thanks! Fingerpuppet 14:34, 18 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there! Yes, Telford is one town nowadays, though confusion comes in that towns aren't the same thing as the like-named local authority area, and in extra-confusing manner, UAs are technically counties in their own right, though MBCs aren't. I like the way, though, that you're marking settlements rather than local authorities, so I'd leave Telford as is.
Just one more minor moan (and it is minor - please don't think I'm having a go!) is that you're missing the A38(M) motorway in Birmingham. Fingerpuppet 16:56, 19 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Perfect! Thank you again for your work. Fingerpuppet 17:10, 19 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image:SevernMap.jpg

Useful map, but I'm not sure what relevance some of the Midlands towns (Stafford, Derby, etc) have, and it would be useful if you could add in a few more towns adjacent to the river / estuary in the south - Newport, Chepstow, Lydney, Berkeley, to name a few. Percy Thrower

Chris many thanks for the picture that I have just added to the Percy Thrower page that I am adding too. Is there any chance of the picture of the head gardener’s house and also the Percy thrower garden centre if they are still around? I would do it myself but I live in Colchester. Many thanks...Deben Dave (talk) 14:30, 21 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

M54

Excellent map you've made for the M54 motorway, really shows the road off well in relationship to the local area.--Fuelboy (talk) 14:08, 9 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

WikiProject Shropshire

Hey, just wondering if you'd be interested in being a member of a proposed WikiProject to cover Shropshire? The proposal can be found here. If you are, could you possibly put your name in the list. Thanks Asdfasdf1231234 (talk) 12:47, 22 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
