Reaching out

Hi Dalorleon! I happened to notice your interest in inclusion versus deletionism. I'm an admin who's pretty active in AFD and while I wouldn't call myself a committed 'deletionist' or 'inclusionist', I'd be happy to answer any questions you may have and help point you in the right direction-- If that's something you want/need. Wikipedia is pretty complicated, particularly if you haven't been actively editing, and many observers have a tendency to get things wrong about how it works. All the best, Eddie891 Talk Work 13:29, 13 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Eddie891! Thanks so much for reaching out! I'm definitely interested in diving deeper into how AfD operates, so I'll likely spend a few days reading up about it. Once I've formed some coherent questions, I'll definitely reach out to you on your Talk page. I really appreciate it! --Dalorleon (talk) 17:12, 14 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Reaching out v1.1

Hi there,

I'd also be happy to discuss with you - both my personal position (I'm active at AfD, both as participant and closer, and I would describe myself as an inclusionist) and also as a back-up to Eddie on clarifying. As Eddie says - it's really easy to both mis-interpret things and confuse terminology etc.

I'm also, in blunt terms, a nerd, so I enjoy helping out on research like this.

Feel free to drop me a line Nosebagbear (talk) 16:51, 13 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Nosebagbear! Thanks for reaching out! It's awesome to see that the Wikipedia community is interested in helping my research. As I told Eddie, I'll spend a bit of time reading up on AfD, and then reach out to you on your Talk page once I feel I've formed some useful questions. Thanks so much! --Dalorleon (talk) 17:14, 14 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Reaching out v1.2

Please see https://slate.com/technology/2019/03/wikipedia-women-history-notability-gender-gap.html as just one reference.

You might want to email me about writing an article for The Signpost (hint: you'll need to activate your email in your user profile). It could be interesting for Wikipedians - getting an outsider's view. It would quite interesting for your profs grading your thesis, reading about Wikipedians' reactions to your views. There likely won't be too many "What a jerk ... !" type comments, but probably a few controversies, and some updates of our consensus about the matter.

Sincerely,

Smallbones(smalltalk) 18:06, 16 November 2020 (UTC) editor-in-chief[reply]

for The Signpost

Hey, Smallbones! Thanks for linking the Slate article; that's a great secondary source on notability that I haven't come across before. Regarding an article in The Signpost, I think I'm still a bit too early in my research to be able to speak about it coherently, but I'd definitely consider reaching out in month or two. But you're right -- it would be intriguing to see how the community would react to the study, and to potentially mention those reactions in my thesis itself. So I'll likely be in touch. Thank you! --Dalorleon (talk) 17:39, 17 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Respond to Interview

Hi, that sounds great. Please email me at jesse.murray at chch.ox.ac.uk from your Harvard email address. MurrayScience (talk) 17:06, 19 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, MurrayScience! I tried emailing you, but got an automated response saying it was not received. Is "chch.ox.c.uk" the ending of your email? (You can also shoot me an email at [email protected] and I can respond with my questions.) Thank you! --Dalorleon (talk) 14:14, 21 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Dalorleon, I would also be happy to talk with you. You can reach me at [email protected] Dtetta (talk) 18:28, 19 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry I made a typo: [email protected]. MurrayScience (talk) 22:02, 21 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, MurrayScience! Just emailed you. --Dalorleon (talk) 13:00, 22 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the link, Moxy! I definitely plan to learn more about WikiProject COVID-19, and to reach out to some of the editors involved.
I see that you're also quite active on the "COVID-19 pandemic" article. Would you mind if I posted a few questions to your talk page? --Dalorleon (talk) 22:40, 19 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Sure....you may also find
