Muscle cars and fast food

Just in case you didn't know, your article will be on the main page in 19 minutes. Ryan Vesey 23:42, 14 December 2012 (UTC)

  • Excellent. Give me, Malleus and some others a little time and we will try to get it on the front page again as an FA ;) Thanks for the heads up. Dennis Brown - © Join WER 23:45, 14 December 2012 (UTC)
An FA is well within your reach now I think. It'll be interesting to see how the GAN goes when you get round to nominating it.

I may get started this weekend on the GA. I still need to clean up and improve the union section, and with my new book, I expect to slightly expand and improve the fast food section a little. I'm dumping some raw quotes and thoughts on the latter in my User:Dennis Brown/sandbox. Dennis Brown - © Join WER 01:01, 15 December 2012 (UTC)
Yes, although some of the sources at glance look a little dubious "About McDonalds" and "We did it for love" and such. Are those definitely RS? It's easily GA class and clearly a future FA, but I think it probably needs further book/journal research if it is to reach FA, it's quite a broad topic. Do you have JSTOR access? ♦ Dr. ☠ Blofeld 11:35, 15 December 2012 (UTC)
I don't not have jstor access, although I do have access to NC libraries online. You are correct that some of the sources are fine for anything short of an FA and will need to be replaced. Keep in mind, this whole journey is an intentional learning experience on many different levels. In order to be a decent admin, I think it is important I take this journey as far as I can. I don't need to become an expert in all areas, but I do need to become familiar enough with the DYK, GA and FA processes, at least enough to explain it or empathize with my fellow editors, so I can help them. I need to get at least one of each, then eventually review a few DYKs and maybe eventually review a GA as well. I don't have to rush (I started planning the article in the summer, and writing in October) but this currently has momentum and is serving other purposes as well. ie: it has a lot of people excited about it and is bringing out the best in them. That alone makes it worth the effort. Dennis Brown - © Join WER 14:03, 15 December 2012 (UTC)
