Shearonink is currently experiencing significant stress that may affect their ability to work on Wikipedia. They may choose to work in quieter areas and avoid complicated tasks or areas prone to conflict. They may also respond to talk page or email messages more slowly than usual, and your patience is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Sometimes...sometimes I find little articles and I feel sorry for them. So I try to fix them up and hope they stay around. Sometimes they fall afoul of AfD despite my best efforts and sometimes I change my mind and decide they're not worth fighting for.
A nice cup of...
Caffieinebooost (talk) has given you a cup of coffee, for taking the time to weather a dispute. Thanks for staying calm and civil! Coffee somehow promotes WikiLove and hopefully this has made your day better. Spread the WikiLove by giving someone else a coffee, whether it be someone you have had disagreements with in the past or someone putting up with some stick at this time. Enjoy!
Spread the lovely, warm, bitter goodness of coffee by adding {{subst:WikiCoffee}} to their talk page with a friendly message.

On 17 June 2011, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Richard MacDonald, which you recently nominated. The fact was ... that sculptor Richard MacDonald(pictured) was a successful commercial illustrator until his late 30s when a fire destroyed his entire art studio along with all his illustrations and paintings? If you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page.

You're constantly doing good things on Wikipedia. You're one of the most thoughtful, considerate editors I know - you're not afraid to ask for help when needed, and that's an admirable quality. I sometimes get the impression that you under-value your own contribution to the project - that's why I wanted to award this; it's not for any one specific thing - because you do lots. Cheers! For you :)
The Original Barnstar
For excessive graciousness in guiding me through process, issues and various perplexia. If only everyone I have to deal with were as competent as you. - Mort
Thank you so much for helping users on #wikipedia-en-helpconnect! You are extremely smart and calm even when working with even the most difficult users. Keep up the great work! JoeGazz ▲ 17:33, 11 July 2011 (UTC)
A beer for you!
you spend far too much time helping newcomers, from the belligerent to the utterly lost :) Take a break, put your feet up, have the beer. sonia♫ 05:28, 24 July 2011 (UTC)
This barnstar is awarded to everyone who - whatever their opinion - contributed to the discussion about Wikipedia and SOPA. Thank you for being a part of the discussion. Presented by the Wikimedia Foundation.
A kitten for you!
Thank you so much for your kind words about my article. I am not an English major in any way lol so it was quite a compliment to be nominated for the Did You Know. Thanks again.
I keep bumping into excellent work from you, whether it's your exhaustive work helping to make
Bath School Disaster pass review or your wonderfully well researched post on the AFD for Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting conspiracy theories Andrew327
Congratulations, Shearonink! You're receiving The AFC and Teamwork Barnstars because you reviewed 182 articles during the recent
talk page. Thank you and keep up the good work! Mdann52 (talk

I just wanted to give thanks to you for clearing up the dispute at User:GoneAwayNowAndRetired/Wikipedia is broken and failing. I also wanted you to know that I thought it was an essay in userspace -- it was actually the user page. (Also, it was cleared up when you removed the essay template.) Editor of the Week
Editor of the Week
Your ongoing efforts to improve the encyclopedia have not gone unnoticed: You have been selected as
I nominate Shearonink to be Editor of the Week for his hard work on Wikipedia. Shearonink has been around a long time (20K edits, 36% to articles) and talks a lot of sense, but hasn't had much recognition of those facts. He used to live in at the IRC help channel, helping out those who needed it and that used to be a lot of people (I don't really go in there any more, so I can't talk for more recent events). Ever since his friends have started leaving, he seems to have slightly disappeared. I wanted him to know that it's not just his friends who appreciate who he is! It is all of Wikipedia.
You can copy the following text to your user page to display a user box proclaiming your selection as Editor of the Week:

A barnstar for you!
The GA barnstar
For your thoughtful review of Historic Presbyterian Community Center (Madison, Nebraska), and for your patience with the slow pace with which I made the necessary changes. It's a far better article for your input, and Wikipedia is a better place for editors like you who're willing to put in the time to do quality GARs. Ammodramus (talk) 14:47, 13 January 2017 (UTC)
Ok... Sorry if I stepped in it, didn't mean to possibly offend, you're one of my favorites around here. Shearonink (talk) 21:44, 29 November 2017 (UTC)
PS - And you write great articles and have a level head on your shoulders and a keen grasp of WP-editing practices. Anytime you want to run for any WP-stuff (oh, I don't know...like maybe the door? lol) I'd be very happy to support you. Shearonink (talk) 21:44, 29 November 2017 (UTC)
PPS - And let me know if you need any articles GA-reviewed. Shearonink (talk) 21:44, 29 November 2017 (UTC)
Psssst - Maybe you know about it but your signature is giving folks the emailing-link thingy. Shearonink (talk) 21:44, 29 November 2017 (UTC)
Serial, I am absolutely gobsmacked and bereft, you have no idea. Shearonink (talk) 21:15, 30 November 2017 (UTC)
[1], and, in any case, i could hardly leave before the aforementioned GANs are done :p ;) Cheers! SerialNumber54129 11:52, 3 December 2017 (UTC)
Thank you NeilN that's very kind. Glad it's useful for folks. I give all credit to DBigXray - I just took what he started and tried to make a help for the folks like me who stumble into WP and feel lost about everything, including "how in the world do I make these wiki-references?". Cheers, Shearonink (talk) 03:00, 30 November 2017 (UTC)
A kitten for you!
Thanks for standing up for me. I thought my level 3 warning was kind of too much too. I like editing Wikipedia in my freetime and thought my sources were alright. I don't ever add spam or weird content. Just a fan of Erika Jayne and I always add sources. I wish you all the best and happy holidays!
Thank you for quality articles such as Benjamin Franklin Graves, for excellent reviewing such as George Washington, for "sometimes I find little articles and I feel sorry for them", for welcoming new users and guiding them, for missing, - you are an awesome Wikipedian!
The Silk Purse Award is given to Shearonink for rescuing the Kline's Mill, Virginia article, and developing what was seen as a sow's ear into a silk purse. Well done. SilkTork (talk) 08:39, 11 October 2022 (UTC)
Thank you for your beyond-the-call-of-duty work on Thomas Johns[t]on, the engraver. It is sad to see so many GAs biting the dust; I'm glad at least one now looks likely to survive. By the way that's the engraver Thomas Bewick himself in his tailpiece engraving ... and I think that branch he's holding is about to break ... Chiswick Chap (talk) 16:36, 28 February 2023 (UTC)
Awwwww, thank you so much. I felt so badly about this GA. I reviewed it and things slipped past me, as they all slipped past so many of us. Didn't seem right to me that this notable person's article could lose its GA designation - though I do completely understand the why...I think it will retain its present designation. Speaking of engraving, you should see the last source I got my hands on...I actually bought it used but it is basically a pristine copy. Turns out this book is so rare (and I believe it's out of print) that I am hoping to donate it to a local library's reference room. Shearonink (talk) 16:55, 28 February 2023 (UTC)
A slight Update...I have taken this Featured List off my Watchlist and have abandoned it to the tender mercies of a non-collegial HERETORIGHTGREATWRONGS recalcitrant editor. I have no special rights to this List, but wanted to mention the fact that I rescued it from its previously-awful, completely-unreferenced, stubby state as seen here in the version I started working on almost 13 years ago. Au revoir.
