Information icon Hello. Some of your recent genre changes, such as the one you made to Caravan (Rush song), have conflicted with our neutral point of view and/or verifiability policies. While we invite all users to contribute constructively to Wikipedia, we urge all editors to provide reliable sources for edits made. When others disagree, we recommend you seek consensus for certain edits by discussing the matter on the article's talk page. Thank you. Doctorhawkes (talk) 08:29, 22 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please refrain from adding, removing or changing genres, as you did to Think I'm in Love (Beck song), without providing a source or establishing a consensus on the article's talk page first. Unsourced genres, creating non-notable Beck articles

Hello. It appears you've been creating articles for Beck and other artists and when creating them, adding unsourced genres upon creation. You must source all genres you add to articles, as this is the number one most contentious area on music articles, but more basically, per

WP:USERG). Also, Whiskeyclone.net is a Beck fansite, is it not? That means it should not be used, and therefore, you should not have created the article for "Hotwax" without news sources proving the topic is notable. Please don't create articles without independent news sources. Beck fansites and user-generated websites are not acceptable sources. Also, please leave out ordinals from dates (the "th"/"st"/"rd" after the number) on Wikipedia articles. Thanks. Ss112 03:18, 15 January 2023 (UTC)[reply

Genres

Hi Diomandz. I've noticed on several articles you've created recently that the genres have not been sourced, including no mention in the body of the article or any indication they are from a source at all. Please remember to only include genres when they have explicit citation. Thanks. Ss112 13:36, 22 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

A reminder to only include sourced genres on articles you create. Also, if you are creating articles about works by British or Australian artists, the date format used should be dmy (27 July 2023 rather than July 27, 2023) as Britain and Australia use dmy. Ss112 15:19, 26 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Final warning

Hello, I'm Serge, an admin here on Wikipedia. I see that you seem to get at least a monthly warning about adding unsourced genre to articles. Please stop doing this. All content additions need to be sourced per

violating our "original research" policy.
If you add any more genre without a source, your account will receive a short block.

On a semi-related note, please be more mindful of meeting

WP:NSONGS. You don't appear to be trying to in some of these Porcupine Tree
articles. Harridan is probably alright, but Piano Lessons and Blackest Eyes are not even close.

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out. Thanks. Sergecross73 msg me 13:42, 2 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Are you understanding what I'm saying here? This was largely about music genre, but I clearly stated "all content additions must be sourced" and you added this single without a source after I left that comment. Are you taking this to heart or do I need to temporarily block your account to stop the unsourced additions? Sergecross73 msg me 12:49, 3 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Oh sorry, i just wasn't thinking. I'll add the source for the singles release. Diomandz11 (talk) 17:38, 3 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Using college students as sources

Please stop using American college students reviewing albums as sources, like you added

The Ithacan to Autumn Variations earlier. They are not professional music critics let alone employed by a notable music publication. I would have thought you'd figure this out as I believe I removed another student source from another article you started, but you've used them multiple times now, so please stop. I'm aware they've won several collegiate journalism awards, but at the end of the day it is still run by random college students who have no formal experience in music criticism. Aside from that, Ed Sheeran is one of the most prominent musicians in 2023—we don't need to resort to using student sources on his work. It's a reflection of how widely (or lack thereof) something has been covered if we need to resort to using college students' opinions on music to bolster notability or a critical reception section. I have sent you a note about a page you started

Hello, Diomandz11. Thank you for your work on

page curation process
, had the following comments:

I have redirected this page. The

notability guideline for songs
states that coverage in the context of an album doesn't show individual notability, and that song articcles that can't grow past stubs should be redirected. The only source in the article that could be considered detailed coverage of the song itself and not the album was the Consequence of Sound review.

To reply, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Mach61}}. Please remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. (Message delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.)
