Thanks for your message. I think mentioning the first ever production and/or the first professional one in major countries is appropriate. I don't know if WikiProject Musical Theatre has agreed any standard practice in this regard, as I'm not a part of it - I'm very much a 'casual' editor. What we have at the moment isn't particularly long or inelegant, and I think it may as well stay until or unless someone undertakes a major revision of the introduction, or adds enough of this sort of stuff to stick in a history section, etc. Happy editing! I won't revert if I see unexplained text deletion again. :) I wondered if something like that was going on, which is why I added a manual note trying to explain the use of edit summaries.
