I have reverted your insertion of statements about a discrepancy of the area of Tiananmen Square because of the Wikipedia policy against original research: see

I am, however, interested in how you came to that conclusion. How did you define the "Square" in your calculation? For example, did it include the National History Museum and the Great Hall of the People, or Mao's mausoleum? Did it include the roadway of Chang'an Avenue? I think that the official figure includes the roadways around your rectangle as well - i.e. including the entire open space bounded by the

Qianmen in the south -- I've marked that area out in this image (with apologise to Google Earth). From a rough calculation by hand (you can check with your google maps area tool), this seems to be around 400,000 sq meters - still a little different from the official figures, but fairly close. The darkish paved roadway you see around the square should, I think, be regarded as part of the square - they're usually sealed to traffic and is pretty much identical to the stone-paved part of the square in terms of usual usage. --PalaceGuard008 (Talk) 10:12, 12 September 2007 (UTC)[reply

Based on the edit history of the subsection Eigenvector Centrality, it seems that you are the one who cited the AMS feature column on PageRank to substantiate the claim that "Google's PageRank is a variant of the Eigenvector centrality measure" (this claim, by the way, was added by another user back in 2007). However, the concept of centrality measure is not mentioned anywhere in that AMS article. Also, for eigenvector centrality, we want to find the Perron vector of an adjacency matrix, while for PageRank, we want to find the Perron vector of a column-stochastic matrix. Since the only adjacency matrices that are column-stochastic are the permutation matrices, apart from this trivial case (in which the Perron vector is the all-one vector and everyone has equal ranking/centrality), the two eigenvector problems are fundamentally different and we cannot cast one into another.
