Hi Emijrrp, the suggested new images are a great idea. If I can make one, actually two suggestions, it might be nicer if it sorted by destination wiki. That is, if all the images for adding to a given wiki are put on the same page? I know that would mean some duplication where a single image can be added to two wikis, but given that a single person is quite likely to only add one of those images, I think that's probably a good thing.

The other suggestion, which I guess you've already thought of, would be to add automatic removal of suggestions once they get actioned, or perhaps just add a one-click button to each suggestion that deletes the section it's in, if that's possible?

I've recently deleted some redirects from uncapitalized names, and I've noticed they were all created by your bot. I wonder what is the policy on that? I tend to be lenient on redirects, but I think everybody knows they should capitalize name of a country or a city. Redirects which I think are useless include for example

Images for bio

Hi. Yes, please make the tool add images on left. For example, this image should have been added on left of the page. The first edit summary is correct. It is not working correctly here because the English Wikipedia is configured as an ltr wiki. It will work correctly on the Arabic Wikipedia where it is intended to be used. Thanks for the great bot! I've added already about 50+ images to nl.wikipedia! I have a small quiestion however, is there a particular reason that the added images are flagged as minor edits by default? No recuerdo haber hecho eso, me parece que era cosa de Yrithinnd. Lo que si hice fue un listado de destacados que nacieron como esbozos. De cualquier forma no tiene mayor complicación un bot así, dime que campos te interesan: título, tamaño, número de interwikis, de imágenes, ¿algo más? Lo pongo en mi lista de tareas por hacer. --

Because italian wikipedia use a lot of templates which have got parameters for images that hide the file extension (jpg, png...), so the bot thinks that it is an article without image, but it's wrong. And this show a mount of false positives. --

First of all, thank you for developing this cool tool. Secondly, I request/suggestion to make this tool better: for RTL languages, such as Hebrew, Arabic etc, it should add the thumb image floating to left, not to right. Two options to implement this:

• condition to check if the language is rtl - change "right" to "left"
• just add it in format of [[{{subst:ns:6}}:<imagename>|thumb|{{subst:PAGENAME}}]] - without "right" or "left" and it will get the default direction.

2nd run of duplicate images w/ variations on the theme

After working on the completion of the last run, and doing a bit more work with duplicate images (and not having the tech saavy to do this), would it be possible to make a run of duplicated image names that have simply a variation on the theme of their suffix; i.e.

Actually, when you enter a name on http://tools.wikimedia.de/~emijrp/contador.php, and hit submit, it gives you the result, but it does not change the URL of the page. I'd suggest you to redirect to http://tools.wikimedia.de/~emijrp/contador.php?usuario+Place%20holder, to emphazise how easy it is to link to a resultpage of your tool, and to avoid questions as dumb as mine ;) (Or at least, add a little notice on the page, mentionning that it is possible, using *this* syntax)

This tool is a really good idea : I was thinking about implementing such an utility, since I consider that both internal and external editcounters retrieving one's contributions is stupid when http://fr.wikipedia.org/w/api.php?action=query&list=users&ususers=DumZiBoT%7CNicDumZ&usprop=editcount will give an editcount loadfree or nearly. By the way, you are using api.ph, are you ? (If not, just in case you don't know yet, you should upgrade from query.php to api.php, since query.php *will* get discontinued in the next month)

¿Dónde quieres poner los videos? En las Wikipedias no se pueden poner videos de YouTube porque no hay ninguna extensión instalada para ello. En Inciclopedia sí, porque habrán incorporado alguna. En Wikipedia lo que puede hacerse es poner videos mediante la etiqueta [[Media:Ejemplo.ogg]], y estos videos deben alojarse en

Instalar extensiones que permitan usar videos de YouTube en Wikipedia es cosa de la comunidad y en última instancia deben instalarla los desarrolladores. No creo que se vaya a hacer porque plantearía muchos problemas de derechos de autor, aunque los videos estuvieran alojados en YouTube.

Thanks for the excellent tool, but I can't seem to be able to get relevant results for the portuguese wikipedia. almost all suggestions the tool presents refer to articles that already have images, most of the time the exact image the tool suggests. Also, I mark articles as done, but next time I use the tool they show up again... What do you think may be causing this? --

When using Images for Bio in French, accentuated letters are poorly rendered, and the tool doesn't work afterwards if you try to add an image. Looking at the list shows a few question marks (also if you show "done and useless"). A UTF-8 issue maybe ?

Hello, it would be great, if your tool 'Images for biographies' would support all languages supported by Wikimedia. (I am searching for nds support in particular, but of course support for all languages would be the most optimal improvement). Would be great if that would be possible. dewiki is very large and the script crashes because Toolserver limits executions to 1 GB of RAM. So, I have to improve the performance of the script or to request more memory. I hope this will be solved in the next days.

Minor edits by bio tool

Hi, I am trying out the bio image tool on the Swedish Wikipedia. I like it, but have one small complaint: the tool marks the edits as minor as default. At least on Swedish Wikipedia we discourage users from using "minor" when adding information, reserving it for linguistic and stylistic corrections and changes. What method does your "images for biographies" tool use to find out which articles are biographies? On sv.wp there are now two categories men and women that together hold 79,400 articles, without the need for recursion. A wonderful tool indeed. I would have preferred to distinguish between done and useless. That way people could scan discarded pictures to see if they were useful after all. Hi, your program is very helpfull of finding the right images for the right persons. I have one question. If i save the change, the filename is called 'Bestand:xxxxxxxx.jpg'.
