Thanks for making an excellent start on this topic. I really enjoyed reading your introduction. I was wondering whether it would be useful to add more details of the interiors, especially perhaps the carved altarpieces and pulpits from the Medieval period. I believe a number of Norwegian churches also have frescos from the same period. Thanks for your feedback. You are right, this is just a start. Topics that should be added include style (period), design (floor plan), decoration details (interior, exterior), and materials/technique (important topic in Norway). Some of this is already covered in other articles on English WP (I will copy and paste), other topics need to be translated. For the architectural features, you might be inspired by Church architecture in Scotland although I can see from your Norwegian and English articles on the octagonal churches you have a pretty good idea of where you are going. I also liked your Korkskirker I Norge. Maybe you could put it into English as Norwegian cross-shaped churches. Personally, I find these top down articles extremely useful. I have written a number myself, for example Architecture of Denmark (which also has quite a bit about the churches) and Church frescos in Denmark. If you would like any help with your English articles, just let me know. Interesting to see you are from Sogn og Fjordane. Hi Erik, I did some cleanup of the Terminology section of the article to make the language more idiomatic. I added and subtracted some definite articles. You might want to check that I didn't alter the original sense of translated material. More importantly, do you mean "shooting at a target while skiing at top speed," literally? I think that is fair. In Norwegian we used the word løype or spor. Noun løype corresponds to verb løpe (to run, slide or hike) and means a ski-trail or ski-path (used for all kinds of skiing, not XC specific). Whereas spor means trace or track and refers to the visible markings left by a skier in snow. In some dialects or old Norwegian there was also the word låm (lom) = løype, combined with sla (english: slope) gave the international word slalom ("ski trail on a slope"). --— Erik Jr. 10:33, 10 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry about that. There are typically an elite group (or class, defined by previous performance) as well as age groups (dont know if class is the appropiriate term in English). So there is an overall winner and winners by age groups. There is also a medal to everyone that completes within a specified time for each class. And I guess also a diploma for everyone that completes. This distinguishes "turrenn" from ordinary XC. Andresen writes (translated): "it is said that Jens Olsen and his friends founded the ski club". So it is very vague, and he does not refer to specific documentation, although the entire book is based on letters from emigrants (and interviews with living relatives). It seems like this Jens Olsen also used the name James Holston. He married Margaret Carter from Scotland. They had residences in Providence and Adaminaby at the lake. I have reverted your edit since the text that I removed, and you re-added, has nothing to do with the etymology of "Norway"/"Norwegians" but is about the etymology of the word Norman ("Normand" in French), and thus doesn't belong in the article. Especially since it can make readers believe that everything referred to as Norman/Normand refers to Norway and Norwegians. I know about the 3R rule. On Norwegian WP the 3R rule does however not apply to obvious vandalism or trolling.
