Hey Sprkee, I hope you've gotten over that pesky bot ruining your life... Hey, is Erickson still notable? I was thinking of {{
- I'll never get over it, but oh well. I'd say he's not notable. I was thinking of prodding him as well. Is there a 2006 Oregon congressional election article we could merge some of his info into? --Sprkee 03:54, 6 June 2007 (UTC)
I found a suitable place for the Erickson info:
- Ah, very nice. Yeah, that does need to be updated, doesn't it? I copied his page to my sandbox, so you can proceed with the prod now if you want. Thanks for doing the leg (finger?) work. --Sprkee 15:52, 6 June 2007 (UTC)
- Eavesdropper buttin in… I agree that Erickson is probably not notable enough for his own article, but would strongly support moving the miminal info that's there onto the "notable races" page as Katr suggests. In which case you probably don't need to bother with a PROD - just make a redirect -Pete 00:32, 14 June 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for reminding me. I think Sprkee has already moved the info. I prodded, but someone contested the prod, and I had planned to put it up for Afd instead. Not sure if someone would contest a redir, should we try it and see? Katr67 01:06, 14 June 2007 (UTC)]

- I did move Erickson's info to the Oregon's statewide elections, 2006; maybe I should put the info there as well, then we do the redir it wouldn't be so tedious for someone to find Erickson's info on it. That page would need substantially more work in general though. --Sprkee 02:24, 14 June 2007 (UTC)]

- Now I see there is a nav box at the bottom with a link to a page called Oregon's statewide elections, 2006 page, add the notable race section from the United States House elections, 2006 notable races#Oregon page and call it done. Then Erickson could redirect to that page. That make sense? Worthwhile? --Sprkee 02:29, 14 June 2007 (UTC)]

Hey Sprkee, thanks for rounding out the Sten article, and for giving a nod to
- I know what you mean about free-floating citations, but sometimes I will throw a significant citation on a page without a REF tag just to make sure it's available for future expansion of the article. In this case, that was a front page, two-page overview of Sten's career, which could support significant expansion of the article if somebody wants to do so. I can see that this approach might not be the best way to go about it though, and I'll try to "inline" such citations in the future. I'll try to come back later today and expand that one, and the Tribune one I added as well. Thanks for explaining your thinking! -Pete 19:47, 28 June 2007 (UTC)

Yep thanks for allowing me to waste my day off. I think something ceases to be spam, no matter who created it, if other people are using it extensively. (allmusic.com is commercial, but it's got a template and I've been using it to show that musicians are at least notable enough to be included therein.) There is a Find-A-Grave WikiProject, so I think they'll probably end up keeping it, if someone even bothers to start the deletion process. Though not a Valid WikiArgument, it seems Useful and Harmless enough to me...

Hey Sprkee, I'm diggin' the new templates--thanks for making them. Do you think on the main one you could center the text? I think it looks incomplete with everything over to the left. Or were you planning to add the previous articles to it as well? BTW, I finally wrote a tiny blurb on

September WPOR Collaboration of the Week
First off, great job to all
On to this week. We are back to the usual two Top importance Stubs: Sunstone and Oregon, My Oregon. Both are stub pluses, so it shouldn’t take much to upgrade them both. Again to opt out or suggest future collaborative efforts click here. Good day! Aboutmovies 22:34, 9 September 2007 (UTC)
WPOR Collaboration: 09172007
All righty WPOR ladies and gentleman, great job last week with our state song and gemstone. I have bumped them up to Start class. I haven’t looked at the contributions, so the COTW award will be later. This week’s articles are Darlene Hooley, by special request, and another Top stub, our very own state rock, the Thunderegg. Yes, apparently we have a state rock and state gemstone. No word on whether there is a state stone too. Hooley basically needs some sources to make it to the next level. Fall WPOR COTW
Welcome to autmun and the weekly COTW news. Great job to those who helped out with last week’s articles: Darlene Hooley & Thunderegg. Both made great improvements. This week, something a little different. With fall upon us, the photo ops are going to be harder to get, so we have a photo request fulfillment drive. Take a look at the requested pictures for Oregon category or the graphics subproject for what’s needed. Then go take a picture, or search online for a free picture to upload (US gov sites are great and there are links available from the above links). If you fill a request, be sure to remove the request template from the article’s talk page. Our other item is another red link removal drive, this time on the flagship Oregon article. Like the state parks red link drive, try to coordinate on the talk page. Again to opt out or suggest future collaborative efforts click here. Aboutmovies 01:53, 24 September 2007 (UTC)

Week 1 October WP:ORE COTW
I know everyone has been waiting anxiously for this week’s COTW, so here they are:
As to last week, it is difficult to track the items we were working on, but I know some pictures were added and at least three red links were removed from Oregon, so thank you to all those who participated. The award winner will be GoodDamon for their creation of the Oregon Forest Resources Institute article. We have now worked through all the Top class stubs and are into the High class stubs. H. C. Egan
Hi! Thank a lot for your message. Yes, you are right, I was confused about the title with "H.". And you are right, moving the article to "Chandler Egan" would be the best. I will ask an admin to help us in this case. By the way do you have some more information about the golfer from the 1904 Olympic tournament? There are also still many players missing. It would be great to start an article about them, too. But I do not have any information about them (no date of birth/death). Thanks for being so patient! Kind regards and :) Doma-w 22:15, 26 October 2007 (UTC)

SPAM ala COTW
Hey Esprqii, yeah, I was challenging the fact that N-S is the conventional orientation. Is it? Does it matter? Why is it important to list all the other E-W stadia? Thanks for taking an interest in it. I had been ignoring the article, knowing that rabid Duck fans would be doing unspeakable things to it, but now that you're on the job, I decided it was safe to remove that bit about it being gently tucked, like a blending-into-the-landscape jewel, next to the river. BTW, I think I probably shouldn't have spelled out the names of the schools in full, so feel free to change that back. I noticed they are shortened in the sports articles, so I guess that's OK in context. It bugs me though that they assume that when they say "Idaho", the reader is supposed to know that they are referring to the UI and not the state. You've looked at enough sports articles--is it useless to fight it?
- You're a platypus?! Should I even be speaking to you? :P We should suggest to AM that one of the COTW be a "Civil War" type article improvement. One Oregon article vs. one Oregon State... Katr67 00:07, 31 October 2007 (UTC)]

- Haha, a platypus..I haven't heard that one. Is that some kind of duck/beaver hybrid that went to both schools? This is a great idea by the way. -Pete 08:30, 31 October 2007 (UTC)
- It could certainly mean someone who has allegiances to both (there is a platypus trophy that used to be awarded to the Civil War winner but then got lost in a closet at Mac Court and was only recently found), but it's also used for someone who lives in Oregon but is neither duck nor beaver. This allows you to root for whichever team best advances overall state pride. --Esprqii 14:57, 31 October 2007 (UTC)
