Even in the lesser definition from wiki, GPS is a system of satellite navigation. It has many components involving communication between satellite, receivers, ground stations. etc. It is a system with many models and components. Saying she formed the basis for it, is like confirming a common misconception where people confuse a part of an item for the entire thing. I probably could have given a clearer edit summary, especially because I think it was probably just a situation where the person who inserted the template wasn't aware of the spelling parameter. I have to admit I know I sometimes may have an overly negative reaction to the use of British spellings in American English articles because of some experiences in the past that need not be rehashed (other than that the most absurd may have been the guy who said, "The British invented the language."). 1995hoo (talk) 20:39, 6 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
