Montalvo cutoff

I could probably make a hash of this, but I appreciate that you are more adept at these details. I was going to try to explain how the path of the railroad affected all of the related communities; Fillmore, Santa Paula, Simi Valley, Moorpark, Oxnard Montalvo/Ventura. Introduction

@

Fettlemap
:,
I just wanted to reach out and formally introduce myself. I've noticed we have overlapped with each other several times on Californian topics and want to say I am a fan/supporter of your work on Wikipedia. It's always nice to see other Californians working to improve and expand topics relating to CA. Just wanted to say if I can ever help you out on CA topics, let me know! I'm from NorCal, and from your edits I assume you are from SoCal, but if there is ever a way for us to help each other in improving things for Californian articles, just know I am here to offer a helping hand. Kind regards,
Cristiano Tomás (talk) 22:18, 22 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Cristiano Tomás:,

Thanks for reaching out, you are correct on all counts. I constantly appreciate your edits. When I look them over, I always know I can learn something about how to improve articles. Thanks for the offer of help, I will keep it in mind and know you can contact me anytime if something comes up. Cheers,

Possible program additions to Silicon Valley Community Foundation

Hi

User:Fettlemap. Given that the Silicon Valley Community Foundation primarily covers our history, I would like to request adding some information about what the organization does. I have put a few of our programs/grant titles on the talk page along with formatted citations that cover them. I’m wondering if you would find it a good use of your time to add some content there on these programs? I am also tagging User:Smuckola, User:Cristiano Tomás, and User:Binksternet who have recently made edits to the article to broader input. Thank you for your consideration. Brookfield Asset Management

Hi Fettlemap. Thanks so much for removing the "Controversies" sections from the several Brookfield Asset Management-related articles. I wonder if you could also take a look at a previous edit request I posted at

Talk:Brookfield Asset Management#Request to revert non-NPOV edits concerning some edits that were made which I believe reduced the overall neutrality of the article. Some of the problems were already dealt with satisfactorily, but others were allowed to remain. I am asking you, an experienced editor, to have a look and see if there is some room for improvement to the article's neutrality. Thanks again for all your help. I noticed this edit. A while ago, there was an RFC supporting your edit. Cheers. Magnolia677 (talk) 10:59, 12 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

GPS

Even in the lesser definition from wiki, GPS is a system of satellite navigation. It has many components involving communication between satellite, receivers, ground stations. etc. It is a system with many models and components. Saying she formed the basis for it, is like confirming a common misconception where people confuse a part of an item for the entire thing. Also, see https://aerospace.org/article/brief-history-gps 108.203.120.57 (talk) 03:41, 17 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Meter v. metre

Just for what it's worth, the point of my edit summary was that the LA Memorial Coliseum article uses American English, in which the correct spelling is "meter." That's all I meant by it. 1995hoo (talk) 14:49, 6 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, I could have stated it better. "Corrections" are made by many novice editors so it should be clear that this is not an error but a national variety of English for those who don't know. Cheers, Adflatusstalk 14:57, 6 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I probably could have given a clearer edit summary, especially because I think it was probably just a situation where the person who inserted the template wasn't aware of the spelling parameter. I have to admit I know I sometimes may have an overly negative reaction to the use of British spellings in American English articles because of some experiences in the past that need not be rehashed (other than that the most absurd may have been the guy who said, "The British invented the language."). 1995hoo (talk) 20:39, 6 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

A question

Hi! I saw you said hello to me on my talk page so I looked at your page and I saw all these boxes you have about different stuff about yourself or things you like and I wondered how can I also have these boxes. They are really cool! ElLuzDelSur (talk) 09:14, 13 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't start by looking at the
"how to" for userboxes. I just looked at other editors' pages in edit mode and copied the code for the box. Cheers, Adflatusstalk 15:22, 13 February 2024 (UTC)[reply

List of municipalities in Colorado

Hi, your recent edits on List of municipalities in Colorado left an error. Can you have a look at the section called "Statutory town" ? Jeffrey Beall (talk) 17:05, 18 February 2024 (UTC).[reply]

Thanks, don't always see errors when editing on my phone. Happy editing, Adflatusstalk 17:33, 18 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Better name for Montrose Chem article?

Hi. I was reading about LA toxic ocean dumping, and have a suggestion for renaming the Montrose Chemical Corporation of California article:
