Hey FirthFan. I created the article Rosie O'Donnell and Donald Trump Feud around January 5th, and it was deleted about a week later. I have the article saved as well as the debate. I read that you did some research on citations and am happy to hear it. The ONLY reason elitist Wikipedia editors deleted it is because it was improperly cited, and if we can remedy that, there would be no argument against it. I would be happy to put it back up. I think it merits its own article, and despite being a celebrity feud, Wikipedia should still be the place where you can learn about it. Someone suggested to me that we put the article up on our discussion page, cite it, and tweak it until it's ready to be put back up. Let me know if you want to do something. - Rollo44 11:08, 20 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm pretty new myself. I'll post the article on your user page, then you can copy it to Word and work on it. If you put in the work, I'll write the code and make sure it's a nice new article. But it's gotta be good and well-cited or the deletionists will have their way in no time. Let me know if you still want to work on it and I'll post the old article on your user page. No pressure. ~ Rollo44 22:46, 21 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hey. I'm learning fast. Each person on Wikipedia has their own userpage as you know. Well, you can make subpages to work on, which I have done for our little project. This is it: User:Rollo44/rumpdraft. Insert whatever you've done in Word and we can work on it simultaneously. ~ Rollo44 03:25, 22 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Can Delete Later After Copy

As it is, the paragraph organization isn't superb.

I suppose the single most important thing is supporting each controversial quote with a solid reference and citation. That's how they got it deleted last time. I know though that there are a lot of solid articles out there.

The Rosie O'Donnell and Donald Trump Feud began in December 2006, when a public feud began between Rosie O'Donnell and Donald Trump sparked. O'Donnell had called his press conference with Miss USA Tara Conner a "publicity stunt". Trump then fired back on Access Hollywood, calling O'Donnell a "loser", and threatened to sue her. In a phone interview on The O'Reilly Factor soon afterward, Trump rebuffed the commentator's admonition to avoid adding fuel to the fire. Bill O'Reilly suggested that Trump abandon thoughts of a lawsuit, because he would be unable to show actual malice or to demonstrate damages. Trump told O'Reilly not to try to be his attorney.

O'Donnell had some fiery words for Donald Trump on The View on December 20th, 2006, calling Trump a "snake-oil salesman" following his announcement that he would not fire troubled Miss USA Tara Conner. "Left the first wife, had an affair, left the second wife, had an affair. Had kids both times, but he's the moral compass for 20-year-olds in America," the comedian and actress said to roars of audience laughter. "Donald, sit and spin, my friend" she added. She also said she expected him to sue her but added “he’ll probably be bankrupt by that time so I won’t have to worry.” O'Donnell responded by taunting him on her blog, laying bare Trump's financial history for all to see by posting an extract from Wikipedia detailing his efforts to stave off bankruptcy. The Wikipedia article, since revised, discloses that Trump did narrowly avoid personal bankruptcy but went through several business bankruptcies, once regarding the Trump Plaza Hotel and twice regarding casinos. While Rosie was on vacation with her family, Barbara Walter issued a clarification on The View. "ABC has asked me to say this just to clarify things, and I will quote: 'Donald Trump has never filed for personal bankruptcy. Several of his casino companies have filed for business bankruptcies. They are out of bankruptcy now,' " Walters said.

Trump lashed back at O'Donnell on several entertainment shows. "Rosie is somebody out of control who really just doesn't have it," Trump said in an interview on Access Hollywoods website. "And she ought to be careful cause I'll send one of my friends to pick up her girlfriend, and I think it would be very easy." On the TV entertainment show The Insider, he criticized everything from her looks to her former television talk show and magazine. "Rosie attacks me personally? I know her fairly well because her show failed. She didn't retire. She didn't get the ratings! Her magazine called Rosie was a total disaster," he said. "She's out of her mind. I will probably sue Rosie for a number of reasons. I'm worth a lot of money. She doesn't tell the facts," he added. Trump fired off a litany of insults, personally attacking her by calling her a "bully," "a loser," "stupid," and even compared her to a "clam." Regarding The Views surge in ratings this year: "I bring it up because they talk about me. Ultimately, that show will fail because of Rosie," adding, "Barbara made a mistake. She cannot stand Rosie O'Donnell." On her intelligence: "She's not very smart. I think Rosie is stupid." On her appearance: "If you can look as ugly as she looks ... I give her credit for having succeeding moderately." On suing her: "You can't make false statements. Rosie will rue the words she said. I'll most likely sue her for making those false statements--and it'll be fun. Rosie's a loser. A real loser. I look forward to taking lots of money from my nice fat little Rosie." On her girlfriend: "I imagine it would be pretty easy to take her girlfriend away, considering how Rosie looks."

On December 21, she responded on The View by adding: "I was afraid to leave her at home in case someone with a comb-over came and stole her from me." In an interview with the TV entertainment show Extra, O'Donnell blasted Trump saying: "I just think he’s a hot bag of wind, frankly, with bad hair."

Trump appeared on several television shows in January 2007 with each appearance garnering questions about the feud. When Trump appeared on The Today Show to discuss the upcoming premiere of The Apprentice when Meredith Vieira questioned him mostly about the incidents involving Rosie O'Donnell. Trump became angry with Viera when she asked him about his dispute with Rosie since the interview was supposed to be in regards to Trump's show. When Trump appeared on the Late Show with David Letterman to further discuss his opinions regarding the feud, he said that he personally wasn't planning to sue O'Donnell, he said that his lawyers wanted to and called O'Donnell a "degenerate." Trump's appearance on Late Night with Conan O'Brien briefly addressed the feud, but host O'Brien focused questions upon Trump's upcoming season of The Apprentice after Trump reiterated an agreement made between himself and the show's producers that no questions would be asked concerning the feud. On January 8, 2007, Barbara Walters went on record on The View and said, "Everything he said about what I said about her is untrue."

Donald Trump says that Barbara Walters called Rosie O'Donnell a "pig" in a phone conversation and that "she won't be [at The View] for long."

Trump sent a letter to Rosie on January 9th, 2007 alleging that he and Walters had a conversation about the Trump-Rosie hostilities while Walters was on vacation. Walters called Trump. Trump said that, according to Walters, "working with [Rosie] is like living in hell" and, "Don't worry, she won't be here for long." What's more, Trump says that Walters advised him, "Donald, never get into the mud with pigs." Trump signed off by telling Rosie to seek professional help for her self-destructive behaviour and sent his regards to Rosie's wife. http://www.aolcdn.com/tmz_documents/rosie_letter_1.jpg

On January 10, 2007, Rosie opened The View by mentioning that he [Trump] must really have a sensitive spot. "That poor, pathetic man." Barbara Walters replied to the whoops and cheers of the audience, as Rosie O'Donnell proceeded to high-five the other co-hosts and she and Barbara then exchanged high fives. "He just can't let go. But we're moving on," Barbara stated. Rosie later noted in that same show, "That man is obsessed with me and I'm happy to say his show tanked."
