Thank you for your prompt reply. I understand your corrections and notes and I will apply them straight away to my article.

I did not include hyperlinks within the references as I was following the guidelines of MLA 7th Edition referencing, but I will include hyperlinks, that is not a problem. Similarly, I will include wikilinks, that's not a problem at all.

And from your information I understand that I am not a paid advocate.

Since speaking to you and taking on board your advice and corrections, am I now able to start re-editing my article, so I can hopefully resubmit an updated and corrected version soon?

With regard to the question about

conflict of interest, note that being an employee of the company amounts to paid advocacy. I have looked at the staff list
] of the company on its website, and it seems likely to me that you are an employee. This does not absolutely debar you from editing, but any COI must be upfront

I have since contacted the photographer of the image and have gained his approval for me to use the image on the article... I have to select whether the image is a free work, or instead copyrighted but fair use. Which option do you advise is most appropriate for my situation? — Neither.

Hi Faye. Thanks for message. The point I was making is that if you have a COI, you must declare it. Even if you are editing in your own time, I think most people would see the fact that you are working for the company as a COI. That doesn't stop you editing the article, but you must be upfront about not being a disinterested editor, even if you write a perfectly neutral article.

I am creating this article purely due to my passion and interest... trying to offer information to share with others who similarly share this interest and/or would like to find out more— the point is that you are not here to write a fan page or preach to the converted, you have to write a factual article for a general audience. I've made these edits, please check the history for details. I've formatted the first few refs using <ref>[url description]</ref> to avoid bare urls, you should do the others. If you use ref name= and put the name in quotes, you must use straight quotes, not curly, I fixed a couple (or chose a one-word name and don't use quotes. You seem to have deleted the entire section of Awards and Recognitions — none were referenced, and a kitchen sink list of everything they have ever achieved looks spammy. Some look pretty low level anyway. At a minimum you need to reference the awards, and you would do better to write in prose and concentrate on a few of the most notable.

"A multi-award winning choreography", which is a fact and not purely promotional. — well, technically yes, but it's like "renowned", "world-famous" and the like, they look promotional even if true, and will attract the attention of admins and other patrollers (you have one on your back already, you really don't need more). Better to let the facts of the company speak for themselves rather than use PR talk

"In 2012, the Jasmin Vardimon Company relocated to Ashford, Kent, opening its new creative home, ‘The Jasmin Vardimon Production Space’", once again, is this not a fact? And if so, why have you chosen to delete it? — definitely a fact, and definitely copied verbatim from a copyrighted web page, not permitted. You have to rewrite in your own words (and not just a close paraphrase)

  • You chose to cut a complete paragraph which began with "Vardimon’s movement is known for its unique mixture of physical theatre, quirky characterizations, innovative technologies, text and dance"—. It was copied verbatim from a copyrighted source, not permitted. It's clear in any case that the text was written by the company, and even if that were not the case, an opinion from a single source does not make it a verifiable objective fact. Who knows it? How do you know it's unique other than that the company says so.
  • Secondly, can I ask why you chose to delete the external links section—Maybe I'm just being dim, but did it ever have an external links section? If so can you give me a difference link or an exact date and time of the relevant edit? Usually ELs are removed if they are social media, YouTube etc. One link to the company's main website is OK if that helps
  • "It is a practical course designed to bridge the gap between student and professional life, and train participants as versatile and multi-disciplinary performers, whilst exploring the dialogue between theatre and dance, improving strength, endurance and technique." —I take your point, what about "It is a practical course designed to bridge the gap between student and professional life, and aims to train participants as versatile and multi-disciplinary performers by improving strength, endurance and technique."? That makes it an aim rather than probably unverifiable fact, and removes the "dialogue" bit which is non-factual padding

You are right, the ELs were in the deleted version. I have doubts about the wisdom of adding these. They aren't social media, but they are very selective positive reviews and commentary, which I'm not sure are appropriate here. It's the sort of thing which would be better on the company website. Well, sooner or later someone other than the two of us is going to look at this article and may come to different conclusions about acceptability, and although you may find this difficult to believe there are people out there who are more critical than me, and might view it as cherry-picked and spammy in tone. If you feel you really must have some or all of these, a "Further reading" section might be a safer bet.
