Please read: If you're coming here wondering why I pinged you about vandalism to your user page when there is no obvious recent vandalism in that page's history, it was probably attempted vandalism by an unconfirmed or anonymous user which was caught by this edit filter. I've been monitoring that filter log because I started the RfC that resulted in its creation.

Wiki Loves the Olympics

Hello. In 2016 you participated in Wiki Loves the Olympics. I want to invite you to participate again this year. Tomorrow the Winter Olympic Games starts in South Korea and we have organized a contest about Winter Olympic and Paralimpic Games. You have the information in m:Wiki Loves the Olympics 2018. Of course, you can also invite other people that you know they could be interested. Thanks! --Millars (talk) 23:18, 8 February 2018 (UTC)

You are missed!

Haven't seen you editing much lately. Your presence is missed. That said, sometimes a Wikibreak does wonders for the mental health :) Just hope it's not a permanent Wikibreak. Kaldari (talk) 22:29, 16 April 2018 (UTC)

@Kaldari: Thanks, I appreciate the note. I don't know when or if I'll resume editing en:wp regularly, but I'm still keeping active on Commons; in fact I'm preparing to upload a new batch of protest photos today. So there's that at least. :-) Funcrunch (talk) 22:38, 16 April 2018 (UTC)

Invitation to participate in study

Hello,

I am E. Whittaker, an intern working with the Scoring Team to create a labeled dataset, and potentially a tool, to help editors deal with incivility when they encounter it on talk pages. We are currently recruiting editors to be interviewed about their experiences with incivility on talk pages. Would you be interested in being interviewed? The interviews should take ~1 hour, and will be conducted over BlueJeans (which does allow interviews to be recorded). If, so, please reply to this message or email me at [email protected] in order to schedule an interview. .

Thank you Ewitch51 (talk) 15:15, 16 May 2018 (UTC)

@Ewitch51: Thanks for the invitation; just sent you an e-mail. Funcrunch (talk) 15:44, 16 May 2018 (UTC)

Wiki Loves Pride photos

I started a belated upload campaign for Commons:Campaign:WikiLovesPride, if you'd like to use it this weekend.--Pharos (talk) 21:08, 21 June 2018 (UTC)

@Pharos: Thanks, but I thought Wiki Loves Pride 2018 was the official category? Funcrunch (talk) 21:10, 21 June 2018 (UTC)
This is using the same category, it's just a tool for to make it a bit easier, especially for newbies. This is the kind of link we could spread in social media. Though I think it would be nice if regular editors could use it too.--Pharos (talk) 21:18, 21 June 2018 (UTC)
@Pharos: Ah, gotcha. Funcrunch (talk) 21:19, 21 June 2018 (UTC)

What's going on in this edit?

[1] It looks like you created the page with the template {{

discretionary sanctions to the page that are ONLY allowed to be added by administrators and require special logging procedures. How many other pages have you added that template to? ~Awilley (talk
) 21:05, 17 November 2018 (UTC)

@Awilley: I just copied that template from a similar article. I did not realize I was not supposed to do so. Feel free to remove it if it's inappropriate. Funcrunch (talk) 21:10, 17 November 2018 (UTC)
It's more than inappropriate. it's the type of thing that gets people hauled off to ArbCom, and admins found improperly modifying the sanctions can be desysopped. I can clean up your mistakes but I'm going to be need a list of the talkpages you added the template to. Do you only add the templates when creating pages? ~Awilley (talk) 21:40, 17 November 2018 (UTC)
I apologize, please assume good faith. I have been an editor in good standing for over 10 years and did not intend to cause anyone grief. I do not have a list of articles that I've added that template to. To my recollection I have only added the template when creating new pages or adding a new talk page to an existing page. Funcrunch (talk) 21:47, 17 November 2018 (UTC)
I realize it was not intentional. I think I may have figured out a way to find and fix the problems. Just be careful in the future. ~Awilley (talk) 23:58, 17 November 2018 (UTC)

@Awilley: I noticed when adding the MOS:TW template to a talk page today that a DS notice was automatically included. Per our discussion here I used a parameter to turn the notice off before publishing the change. FYI, that DS notice was added to the MOS:TW template in December 2017 (likewise for the parallel MOS:TM template), but prior to that date I had added the MOS:TW, MOS-TM, and MOS-NB (which added a DS notice in Feb 2018) templates to numerous talk pages, as no doubt had other editors. Funcrunch (talk) 00:12, 6 December 2018 (UTC)

It's ok for non-admins to add that DS template as far as I know. It's just an informational template saying that DS apply to the topic area. The problem is when the template added imposes page-level sanctions like 1RR. That's my understanding at least. ~Awilley (talk) 05:42, 6 December 2018 (UTC)
@Awilley: Thanks for the clarification. Funcrunch (talk) 05:44, 6 December 2018 (UTC)

I definitely have an opinion on the subject, but I've been avoiding move discussions on that page since my participation in previous such discussions caused me distress. Funcrunch (talk) 21:04, 14 May 2019 (UTC)

Yes, I know it's a territory, but did you know it's not in the U.S.

Hi. I'd like you to review. Regarding your edit here: You stated that ahe was born in Puerto Rico, US. However, Puerto Rico is not a part of the US. It is instead a US territory which is legally not part of the United States but rather a separate domain under the control of the US congress. Therefore she was not born in Puerto Rico, US. She was born in Puerto Rico. The political relationship of P.R. doesn't mean P.R. is "in" the U.S. and many discussions have been held about this over the years. Please review these discussions on the matter and please revert your mistake.

--The Eloquent Peasant (talk) 22:49, 22 November 2019 (UTC)

OK, understood. You can just revert back yourself though, the article isn't under 1RR or anything. Funcrunch (talk) 22:51, 22 November 2019 (UTC)
