ref name=
I am currently on dialup so I will keep this short. If I recall correctly ref name= is for the purpose of assigning a short name to a reference so the reference can be used a number of times throughout the text. Regards, Darrell_Greenwood (talk) 02:48, 28 June 2010 (UTC)
Found it http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style_(footnotes)#Reference_name_.28naming_a_ref_tag_so_it_can_be_used_more_than_once.29 Darrell_Greenwood (talk) 02:52, 28 June 2010 (UTC)
- Thank you Darrell. I've lightly skimmed that page, but there are some possible contradictions I haven't yet wrapped my mind around. Let me see if I understand your message correctly. Just the <ref name="unique identifier" /> can be used for multiple citations to the same page number, thus reducing visible code on the editing page. If that's what you're saying, that's a great idea, and I will implement it if I can get it to work. I particularly like the way SilkTork does citations over on Brewing, as they go directly to the book page, allowing one to read the cited text with just a couple of clicks. - Correct. There was a typo with the Gänzle citation which I've fixed. Darrell_Greenwood (talk) 00:40, 29 June 2010 (UTC)
Hi. As you recently commented in the

- I guess I don't understand the purpose of a "poll" if the tool is "due for release" regardless of poll results. Gzuufy (talk) 18:02, 24 September 2010 (UTC)
