Hello, Iazyges. I noticed that you have been off Wikipedia for some time; hopefully all is well with you. I have recently made some additions on Staurakios, as well as some other general revisions. It seems like a major source of concern at the failed FA was the quality of the prose, and I have begun the process of rectifying the aforementioned concern. Would you like to co-nominate this in place of Christopher Lekapenos? If so, I was thinking of doing so in the third round of the WikiCup. Cheers, Unlimitedlead (talk) 22:07, 10 April 2023 (UTC)
- @Unlimitedlead: Howdy; I am (mostly) well, just rather sick. The greater concern was usage of a certain source, which I've not yet had the time to re-base the article upon. The Christopher Lekapenos article is, IMO, in a better place for FAC; happy to run it in the third round. Iazyges Consermonor Opus meum 13:19, 11 April 2023 (UTC)
- I hope you recover soon! That is quite alright; thank you for letting me know. I will still try and help out with Staurakios in the meantime. Unlimitedlead (talk) 15:23, 11 April 2023 (UTC)
- In regards to Christopher, Ostrogorsky wrote "Christopher took precedence of Constantine some time after April 922 and before 25 December 924 when the younger Lecapeni were crowned because we have the evidence of two chrysobulls issued in the name of the Emperors Romanus, Christopher and Constantine (Zepos, Jus I, 204; Délger, Reg. 593 and 594; consequently both these documents should be dated to the period between April 922 and 25 December 924). Christopher’s precedence over Constantine was not connected with the marriage of his daughter to the Bulgarian tzar Peter in 927 as Theoph. cont. 414 says (followed by Runciman, Romanus Lecapenus 67)", which the article contradicts. Grierson also writes something similar to Ostrogorsky. Any idea on which chronology should be presented in the article? Unlimitedlead (talk) 22:01, 11 April 2023 (UTC)
- @Iazyges Have you seen this? Unlimitedlead (talk) 22:10, 17 April 2023 (UTC)
- @Unlimitedlead: Apologies, I'll take a look when I can. It may be a simple task of presenting all views as possibilities/views since they are not so far apart. Iazyges Consermonor Opus meum 12:51, 18 April 2023 (UTC)
