Public records seem to indicate that he died in 2014, but I cannot find a corroborating obituary. Just a heads up, as his 100th birthday is approaching. Connormah (talk) 19:57, 14 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Connormah:, thanks for this. The guy who runs Pro-Football Reference is quite responsive and could get this updated so that we have an RS for it. What and where is the record? If it's indisputably him I will forward it on to them. Thanks again! --Jkaharper (talk) 19:19, 15 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I've already sent it in (from one of the public record aggregator websites, MyLife), though he is a bit hesitant as the info cannot seem to be found elsewhere. I am sure that it is based off of some public records database... but I'm not sure where (as the SSDI is no longer updated). Seems that there is a lot of California and Florida deaths on that website that cannot be found elsewhere, but again, not sure what source they come from. @Connormah:, sadly MyLife is now banned in the UK (must be due to GDPR or something along those lines). It's likely accurate as I believe that site scrapes details from life insurance companies online (which are generally free to access and search in themselves but you'd have to know the company and then sign up to their site). I've searched Spokeo and ClustrMaps. He's still on the former, but it's an old record by the looks of it (no live age shown). He was last living in San Francisco. He's not on ClustrMaps at all. I agree he's dead but I suppose we'll have to wait. Can't find anything on Ancestry or Newspapers.com to confirm, though I presume you already checked those yourself. Thanks for the heads up! --Jkaharper (talk) 22:44, 16 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Last living in San Jose, I believe, per MyLife (unless that is also an old address) - I also checked the VA Cemetery Search, but no sign of him there either. I suppose he will be due to be moved to the possibly living people category soon enough, though, if anything. Frustratingly, it can sometimes be hard to verify the deaths of some people of the more populous states/metro areas of the US, as many opt not to have obituaries published. You're right. I'm trying to secure evidence for some others at the moment. I see Marcy McGuire's page was edited by (what appears to be) relatives the other day. Supposedly died early August. Also, according to the Mutti-Mewse (film historians) Instagram page, June Kenney died in June. This one I'm a little more skeptical about as I just can't believe someone who starred in films with a cult following would pass off radar... they received an email informing them of it, so it would seem to be true. Either that or a serious mixup or a tasteless hoax. --Jkaharper (talk) 22:54, 16 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Connormah:, had a second dig today and found an obit for him in here. You were right, great job! --Jkaharper (talk) 01:02, 20 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Just checking - would you think that this source is sufficiently reliable? I assume not. Ghmyrtle (talk) 15:16, 27 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Ghmyrtle:. Do I think it's sufficiently reliable? Yes. Does Wikipedia according to its ridiculous and dated policy on blogs? No. Even if you and me okay it as a source, another user will inevitably come along and scrub it. I say we just wait. The media will pick it up within the next few days. Thanks --Jkaharper (talk) 19:57, 27 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
