State College Area School District

I just spent three days carefully attempting to update the State College Area School District Wiki site. I saved every hour or so. When I was done and on my final save I received a Wiki message that someone else was also trying to update the site. No, there were not two editors trying to update. No other changes were attempted. No one else was working on the site. The message advised me to compare the two sets of corrections and merge them constructively and to not copy and paste. There is no second set. The instructions were nonsense.

Next, I click on "talk" and find that you think some of my corrections/additions were not appropriate for reasons not explained.

This site has not been updated or corrected for at least four years, likely six years. The data is archaic. Now I understand why the school district has not updated the site or initiated a contract with Enacademic to do so.

You have received my last donation and attempt to participate. You don't want community editing you want to be paid for Wiki or friends of Wiki to do it. Just say so before I work my butt off while you watch and then destroy everything.

My edit was not vandalism or a test. It says "type" next to "type" you are supposed to type in "Asian festival", "cultural", "religious" etc. in order for the template to be colour coded. That section is not to type in different ethnic groups there is a separate section for that called "observed by". If you knew this, you would know that all those ethnic groups that were listed do not even appear on the page when in "reading" mode as it is a hidden section. State College Area School District

Hello Kaobear, this is Jack responding to your last Wiki message pertaining to my editing attempts. First, I apologize for my rant. Second, thank you for reverting to my original edits. Yes, the document now contains all my updates, except the last one. My last edit was an attempt to include a new paragraph explaining the school district's fairly new public charter schools. The subject is controversial because it involves conflict between teacher unions and parent choice. The courts and arbitrators decided (about 100 decisions in our district)in favor of charter schools based on state law. My own children and grandchildren are now adults, I have no affiliation with charter schools whatsoever. However, I do think that objective information pertaining to charter schools should be included in an article about the school district. I do use cited quotes from court and arbitrator decisions, every word is original to me and my analysis using the Pennsylvania Open Records and Open Meetings Law. I am a long-time certified Criminal Analyst (Society of Certified Criminal Analysts) and have prevailed against the district in dozens of Right to Know appeals to the Pennsylvania Right-to-Know Office and Court of Common Pleas. I am not, however, accomplished at Wiki editing. I have tried to read and understand the Wiki help guides.

What is the best method for me to insert a new or reverted Charter Schools paragraph? Thank you, 71.58.130.137 (talk) 12:23, 12 June 2016 (UTC) Jack P.S. we share an interest in Stratego.

Vandalism?

Kaobear, could you please explain which one of these edits you claim to be vandalism? I have explained in my edit summaries why I have removed these materials:

A part of the unit's members have been described as "
neo-Nazi
"

As mentioned here, the two sources used (USA Today and The Daily Signal) did not back up the "a part" comment. USA Today mentioned the views of those connected with Azov as to why they were not all neo-Nazis and did not claim this as fact, and The Daily Signal is POV as it is owned by the US conservative The Heritage Foundationtheir articles on Russia clearly show a bias which I believe is too POV to be used in a contentious article such as "Azov". Again, I do not say that all Azov members are neo-Nazis, but I remove "A part" as it was not backed up by citations.

Removal of It also states that the battalion's logo is based on the Coat of arms of Ukraine, which has been used to symbolize Ukraine since 1918. However the real wolfsangel sign is used openly throughout Europe. Unlike the Ukrainian symbol Idea of the Nation, wolfsangel is used explicitly as wolfsangel by the cities of Eppelborn, Erwitte, Idar-Oberstein, Marpingen, Burgwedel, Oestrich-Winkel, Mommenheim among few.

The citation after "1918" did not mention the Coat of arms of Ukraine specifically I think, and the rest of this paragraph was uncited and I have not seen anywhere else this claim.

Thank you. Liborbital (talk) 19:33, 12 June 2016 (UTC)

Regarding change to Ilya Ilyin article

Hey, this is the first edit I've made to wikipedia so I'm not sure how the process works. I was merely adding the fact that nothing is confirmed regarding the Ilya Ilyin doping allegations. The article referenced in that section is speculative and refers to several other 2nd hand sources. Neither the IOC nor IWF has made an official press release on the matter so any information regarding the matter is speculation and rumor.

The IWF announces all adverse analytical findings on this page: http://www.iwf.net/category/anti-doping-news/ if a failed test for an athlete is not announced here it must be assumed the athlete has not failed a test. The Doping section of the article should be removed entirely, or it should be modified to state that any allegations of doping are speculative. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.81.221.2 (talk) 19:18, 14 June 2016 (UTC)

OPSEC

Hello, Kaobear!

I have some concerns about the OPSEC entry. I think it's important to mention that OPSEC is cyclical in nature; that's codified in regulation and other authoritative sources, and I can site that if you would like.

I'm also concerned about the "Recognized OPSEC Certifications" advertising blurb. According to that link, they charge $100 for that. Since they're not a registered non-profit organization, that would be spam (in my opinion).

I also think some mention of the history of OPSEC could be beneficial, seeing as how the story helps to clarify the process itself.

Can I make those changes?

nappy pins

modern spring fibula, suitably large for nappy use, were used for a long time before the sliding cap nappy pin came around. The locking cap is not unique to nappy pins ! Locking caps improve the rated load capacity .. because it prevents the load dislodging the pin from the clasp by twisting around the pin and squeezing the pin...

BTW, Mr Hunt in no way invented the safety pin, one he was born 3000 years too late, and two, he could have just walked over to the museum, jewelry shop or library, and obtained the dimensions of the spiral - made of the same wire as the pin - or gone to a high end jewelry shop and bloody bought it !. They were available, as diminutive broaches, for the purpose of pinning cloth without the clip being highly visible... (broaches are small and large.. you might think a brooch is 99% decoration, but no, broaches were also made small for the utility of pinning cloth together !)

The farcical nature of saying patents are due to invention is illuminated by another patent example.. Ironically the same mr Hunt vs Mr Singer... Mr Singer was said to be the inventer of the sewing machine with lockstitch.. Ah no, the patents office granted the patent to MR Singer naively, and Mr Hunt fought it and won, but Mr Hunt didn't get his name onto the Singer patent, as he entered into contract with Mr Singer external to bureaucracy - they were both sick of trying to make public servants lift a finger "to correct the record"... Mr Hunt wanted cash, and Mr singer wanted fame and fortune. the patents office is a very very poor source of fact. 101.190.68.66 (talk) 02:52, 17 June 2016 (UTC)

Roman Polanski on Harvey Weinstein page

The reference to Roman Polanski on the page says he had "unlawful sexual intercourse" with a 13 year old. I changed this to rape because under US law (where the crime took place), sex with a minor is by definition rape.

You changed it back because you felt that this is "not constructive", but I personally believe it is unconstructive to sugarcoat the fact that was legally rape. It is also potentially traumatic to survivors of sex crimes to see the seriousness of rape played down in this manner.

I attend this school. I'm quite sure I know what to change on their Wikipedia page, since I know the facts of that school and their policies. Lloyd Babb revert

Hello Kaobear, thanks for the notification of your revert. I do have a few questions:

1. Why do you claim that my contribution "did not appear constructive"?

2. Involvement in the high profile criminal case that I outlined is perhaps the main reason why this individual may be considered notable. In Australia the media has actively reported this case over the last 5 years, as an indication Australia's premier television current affairs program recently devoted a one hour episode to this case. I suggest that Mr Babb's response to the case is controversial in the same way that the recent sentencing decision by Judge Aaron Persky is controversial. The Wikipedia page for Judge Persky contains substantial reference to the controversy over his recent sentencing decisions: §https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aaron_Persky

3. You may have noticed that I included sources, all of the information that I published was factual and on the public record. I did not present any personal opinion. Do you believe that the contribution is in breach of Biography of a Living Person protocol, and if so how?

4. You suggested that I use the Sandbox. I understand that is a place to practice with layout and Wiki mark up. I would appreciate it if you could identify specific formatting issues with my contribution?

5. I appreciate that the content may be better placed as a subheading under an existing section, this would be consistent with the way the Judge Aaron Persky page is set out. Would you support the restitution of the content as part of an existing category?

6. You reverted my contribution after only 26 minutes. Did you receive a notification? Are you a moderator or previous editor of the Lloyd Babb page, or do you have some other interest? How did you know about my contribution so fast?

7. I thought the protocol was to discuss issues in the article's Talk page, rather than deleting content. If you still don't accept that the content is appropriate, I am happy to initiate a discussion on the Talk page? As I suspect this is not a highly visited article, is there a way to alert other editors who may be interested in discussing the appropriateness of the contribution?

Thanks in anticipation of your response.RussHawk (talk) 18:41, 22 June 2016 (UTC)

Hello Kaobear, thanks for acknowledging the mistake and restoring the text. I agree that the writing could be more polished, I was aiming initially to create a summary of the issue from the various and lengthy sources. I will revise it after I have had a break, of course it would be great if other editors also make improvements. I have previously been dragged over the Wikipedia coals (in a not entirely just manner) for edits to a biography of a living person, so I apologise if my response was overly defensive. Presumably you are on the path towards becoming an administrator, I hope you will exercise that power fairly.
Thanks, RussHawk (talk) 19:14, 22 June 2016 (UTC)

Elvis Crespo

White Russia can be still considered as a correct term for Belarus since it is still used in many languages. In the last decades Belarus has also underwent many name changes for its country. E.g. Byelorussian soviet republic. White-Russian territory before Russian revolution.

The article however is not completely about the Belarus republic it is about the origin of the name of White Russia. There is evidence that the term White Russia had been used for the Grand Duchy of Moscow once, and for Novgorod. This information may not be deleted.

Thank you Kaobear , the page Naghar Pushtun Tribe has no refrences and is totally baseless , Naghars are Indian based Rajputs living in Rajistan Area, This Author is manipulating the facts and is didtorting the history, I request you to remove the page and put a check on this user, I shall be keeping an eye on the page too, which should be removed as quick as possible, to make Wikipedia Reliable source to the world. I have little knowledge about removing the page so I request you to remove it , Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by MuslimArab (talkcontribs) 22:09, 23 June 2016 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of "John Fisher" - ?

I don't really understand the reason behind this edit. It is a complete article that's been on Wikipedia for ages, clearly not eligible for speedy deletion. I've only added one citation to the article. Was yours an automated edit? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Virusman (talkcontribs) 22:01, 24 June 2016 (UTC)
