Quite aside from the possible deletion, there seems to be considerable flap about the location of the head office. Those claiming to represent the company say it is in, and has always been in, Lethbridge. Do you have a source for it being in Edmonton? I followed your link, and while the text talks about there being many outlet in and around Edmonton, I can't seem to see where there is anything about the location of the current head office. Any help would be appreciated. ៛ Bielle (talk ) 02:39, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
The Government Pension Fund of Norway, as minor if (and only if) they genuinely are minor edits (see
Help:Minor edit ). Marking a major change as a minor one is considered poor etiquette. The rule of thumb is that only an edit that consists solely of spelling corrections, formatting changes, or rearranging of text without modifying content should be flagged as a 'minor edit.' Thank you. -- John
(Daytona2 · Talk · Contribs ) 23:46, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
I am confused to which edit you are refering that was "major" but that I marked "minor". I added a category which was already mentioned in the text, added an "s" to one word, and added a link in the links section. I hardly consider any of those "major" edits that I was trying to seeking in. Please asume good faith. Kevlar67 (talk ) 16:07, 8 February 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for your reply which I've moved here to keep the conversation in one place and in context. You omitted to mention that you removed Category:Government and pension funds from an article entitled The Government Pension Fund of Norway and replaced it with Category:Sovereign wealth funds. This is a modification of content, which falls foul of
Help:Minor_edit -
"A check to a minor edit box signifies that only superficial differences exist between the current and previous version: typo corrections, formatting and presentational changes, rearranging of text without modifying content, et cetera. A minor edit is a version that the editor believes requires no review and could never be the subject of a dispute."
"The distinction between major and minor edits is significant because editors may choose to ignore minor edits when reviewing recent changes; logged-in users might even set their preferences to not display them."

Thanks for the message on the environment policy, considering there is more issues right now, this article will not be used a lot in the next few weeks.

Actually, amongst the footers (I do not believe "article series" templates are a good idea there, they will almost systematically conflict with "politics of" templates), the division is nearly 50/50, however, I fail to see what makes those templates special compared to the thousands of footers all over Wikipedia where there was never a feeling that flags were a necessity of any sort, not to mention that templates like
WP:MOSFLAG
). If the problem is with consistency, I will happily strike away all the flags in other templates, they don't belong any more than those in the CA template.
Even templates about flags do not have them: Template:Australian flags , Template:Canadian flags , Template:Dutch flags , Template:New Zealand flags , Template:German flags , Template:USSR flags ... Template:Spanish flags has two, but it's still the one very odd out. What makes the Foreign relations templates Oh So Special that they absolutely need flags?
See also Template talk:Provinces and territories of Canada for a lengthy discussion of flags in a footer. Circeus (talk ) 17:20, 28 February 2008 (UTC)

My bad, just saw the linked pages, and as of now thought it odd there were no 3-0 wins, so assumed (not being an ice-hockey fan) that this round was best of 3. Thanks for catching the error. 86.130.122.126 (talk ) —Preceding comment was added at 20:49, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
i see that you have done numerous edits on this article. i have always been curious about these guys in the red army. did they receive normal promotions over time? were they enlisted or commissioned? did they have other duties? i think these are issues the readers of the article would be interested in.
i note also your interest in quebecois surnames. you do know that there are only 10 names used in pq. the others are savard, charbonneau, sabourin, potvin, robitaille, lafleur, and brisebois.;)(i grew up in ottawa, on the ontario-quebec border). a last note:i now live in annapolis, maryland, and i see you use the maryland flag in one of your userboxes. get back to me if you're interested in several trivial but fascinating facts about it.e.g. the maryland flag is the only u.s. state flag that may legally be flown from a staff with a (christian) cross on its end.Toyokuni3 (talk ) 06:13, 22 April 2008 (UTC)

I wont probably follow your suggestions for a range of reasons that might come clearer later - as we have a strong locl wiki project that Id put that stuff before doing anything like that - but hey that slipping out into IP numbers used to happen to me a lot in the past - so my apologies - for doing that. cheers

Size is the issue - I have tried to start stuff on our coastline - the sheer size and distance is something the usually geographically challenged never get the handle on - western australia is big - more than any damned ethnocentric xxxx could ever understand :( (xxx - anyone who lives in small spaces like xxxx or whatever)

nothing at all - I am not referring to your comments or advice - just the general frustration with those who seem to have little understanding of australias dimensions - just a general wikipedia gripe - sorry

I suppose it's been more of a series of discussions than one big debate. See here , here , here , here , here , and here . As you can see, it has been contentious in the past, but every time "Afghan" has been settled on. Good Ol’factory (talk) 21:09, 17 June 2008 (UTC)

Hello,
There is a discussion regarding moving the Doherty page to O Dochartaigh. You spoke in against the idea. Any strong feelings on this? I reviewed the Irish names guidelines and it appears we could go either way. I'm sending Dun the same message. He/she was in favour of the move. What are your thoughts? The article still needs some depth added. The clan is commemorating the 400th anniversary of Cahir's death (1608). There will likely be some more history coming to light.

Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an

Just so you know, there was already a prior AFD discussion back in March which established the very change you requested, and then the ambassadors category was recreated in July. There's no real need for a new discussion — I just went ahead and speedy-redirected it. Bearcat (talk ) 19:11, 19 September 2008 (UTC)
I tagged it with a {{ categoryredirect
}} instead of deleting it. That's generally about as good as we can do; it doesn't necessarily stop people if they have an
agenda , but I'm pretty sure this one was simply an accidental oversight.

Hey there, I saw you create a general stub for the concept of historic districts , I created the U.S. article. Do you have any info on districts in, say, Canada, or the Great Britain? Maybe some links? I would very much like to see a more global article develop there, possibly referring to more detailed articles on specific nations, much like the U.S. historic district article. Thoughts? --IvoShandor (talk ) 05:11, 9 October 2008 (UTC)

Actually, what I think is really missing entirely from this article is the initial
Canada-United States Free Trade Agreement and that NAFTA was really mostly just adding Mexico to that treaty. That agreement was developed and signed completely during the Mulroney and Reagan years. I don't disagree, incidentally, that NAFTA negotiations were completed under the Mulroney/Bush administrations and merely signed during Chrétien/Clinton but isn't that explained enough in the History section? Perhaps the intro should not bother to mention the signing leaders as they're not that important "The agreements were signed in December 1992 (or is it 1993) by the leaders of Canada, Mexico, and the United States and came into effect on January 1, 1994" or perhaps it can just mention the negotiating leaders: "The agreements were pursued by the leaders of the three countries — Brian Mulroney of Canada, Carlos Salinas de Gortari of Mexico, and George H. W. Bush of the United States, signed in December 1992 (or 1993), and came into effect on January 1, 1994." Which year was it signed? The intro says 1993 and the History section says 1992.
