Album articles

Read

notability
.

You should understand that Wikipedia is not for

promotion
of any kind, and is very resistant to being used in that way. It is absolutely not here to help launch this album, and it is not a place for the band to tell the world about it. The sort of long spiels from the songwriter you put in your early versions are fine for the band's own website but quite inappropriate for an encyclopedia article - anything like that would either be cut by other editors or, more likely, lead to speedy deletion as an advertisement.

There is good general advice at

WP:Your first article. JohnCD (talk) 19:39, 5 August 2013 (UTC)[reply

Disambiguation link notification for August 15

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Distortion Mirrors, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page My Bloody Valentine (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Your edit

This edit you made to Sylvia Browne is likely accurate, but it still requires a source. Neither ref mentions family. Moriori (talk) 00:03, 23 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

You're generous with your barnstars. ;) Sadly, I don't think we can use the SFTBH cover art you found, as it's fan-made, inspired by the art seen on a cassette in the Alone liner notes. I think that might count as original research, or something, but I'll look into it.

. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button ( or ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thomas Kinkade

Hi. Sorry for the slow response, but you left your message to me on my "user page", not my "talk page", so I only spotted it by chance.

I'm sorry that we interpret things differently in the case of Thomas Kinkade. However, as an encyclopedia our first concern is with documented matters of fact, and it's inappropriate to delete something from an entry about a person just because it makes them look less than perfect. I hope you'll understand my position. Thank you.

RomanSpa (talk) 14:07, 31 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

P.S. Generally, it's a good idea not to edit someone else's "user page" unless you've been specifically invited to. Communication is better kept to a "talk page". :-)

Thank You!

Hi. This is just to say thank you for the Barnstar of Diplomacy. I'm tremendously pleased and flattered!

I'm glad that we're able to get on with each other, even if we sometimes disagree about some things. We're all here to do our best for the project. Wikipedia is the biggest encyclopedia that has ever been created by humanity, and every day it gets better. I hope we can both carry on making useful contributions.

Again, thank you. RomanSpa (talk) 06:37, 4 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

You're quite welcome RomanSpa! Thank you again.
