Is there a way someone can email me at [email protected] so we can fix these issues? TY
- I'll just go ahead and write about it here. It just seems more transparent that way. Wikipedians like transparency.
- Wikipedia wants all information that's relevant for people who have articles, even information that might be interpreted as negative. You, on the other hand, have a motivation, admitted or not, to keep that potentially negative information out of the articles you write for clients. That's where your conflict of interest comes in. If you understand about how Wikipedia works, and a surprising number of people don't, you would realize that there's simply no way to guarantee that reliably sourced, negative information will appear, and stay, in the articles you help write, anyways. Heck, there's no way to guarantee that unsourced, negative information will appear, but we try our best to take such information down, particularly of living people. If this information appears, for any length of time, are you going to get the blame for it, even if you're not at fault? Maybe, if somebody doesn't realize how Wikipedia works.
- Unfortunately, the best way to go about this is to not write for clients, or other people you are close to personally, or professionally, at all. So, you probably shouldn't, for example, write about your family, either.
- The second best way to deal with it is actually the way you dealt with it. Dealing with it transparently, making it very clear that you are being paid as part of your job to do this. In fact, since you are a "paid editor" you are now required to do this, per the terms of use. Traditionally, however, we looks for such disclosures on the articles talk page, but the edit summary should suffice.

You have been tagged as a vandal. Please discuss. Bearian (talk) 20:43, 2 July 2014 (UTC)
- That's actually misleading: you haven't been "tagged as a vandal." I believe yours is a promotion-only account and stated as much as the link above, but my request is in process of being turned down, because this is a "noticeboard is for obvious vandals and spammers only." I was told to take my concerns elsewhere, to a different noticeboard, which I don't intend to do. Anyway, I'm sure this is all a bit confusing to you, but you have not been "tagged as a vandal" in any official sense. talk) 20:51, 2 July 2014 (UTC)]

Thanks to everyone who has helped with these. Yes, this has all been confusing. I am just given information either directly by celebs, their agents, or managers and I update their pages accordingly. I always try to provide as much proof as possible. I just recently realized I cannot write personal opinions or what the celebs "want" their wiki to say. I realize everything has to be strictly factual with proof and that is what I plan to provide on the accounts I have been asked to update. Thank you.

]Gary Wales
Hi. i noticed a request on game of thrones page asking if anyone knew anything about Gary Wales. It would appear that the article you started incorrectly implies he had a starring part in the series, and this has not been corrected despite the problem being pointed out. I would suggest that if you are starting a new article you try to vet it first so that the facts are correct, even if they arent terribly impressive or substantial. If there isnt enough to sound interesting to the general public, then maybe it really isnt enough to justify having a wiki article. Having a striking error is more likely to motivate people here to do something about it than to give it a head start. If you are writing about someone few have ever heard of, then perhaps there is no hurry in posting something containing errors? If you end up in this situation again, then the best thing to do would be urgent action to edit the article in question into a respectable form, addressing objections people have raised, if that is possible. (But I do wish you every success in getting articles started if you can find some respectable facts to pin one around) Sandpiper (talk) 20:17, 9 July 2014 (UTC)
