A tag has been placed on

section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://whattodoinireland.com/place/limerick-greenway-co-limerick/. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing
.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. This page should not be speedy deleted as an unambiguous copyright infringement, because...
Hi, I am currently working for the Limerick City & County Council. They have requested a new wiki page is set up for their tourism amenity, Limerick Greenway. My article has been flagged and declined for several reasons, which are being highlighted to me by your helpful editors in the live chat.
I am attempting to rectify the flagged issues, including copyright infringement. I understand that you cannot take in good faith that someone is working for someone therefore they should be allowed to do X, but I am requesting that you don't delete our progress as we are trying hard to fix the problem.
Wikipedia currently has this amenity linked to the Great Southern Trail, however this is no longer accurate. The council would like to distance Limerick Greenway from this name, hence why I have created a new page on their behalf.
I hope you understand our position, Thank you kindly, Limerick Greenway. Limerickwiki22 (talk) 16:30, 19 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Limerickwiki22. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Limerickwiki22. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Limerickwiki22|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. Theroadislong (talk) 16:12, 19 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Theroadislong, thank you for your response. Limerick City & County Council have hired my company (the company I work for) to aid in the public relations and marketing communications of their new campaign for Limerick Greenway. I have been tasked with creating a new wiki page for Limerick Greenway - separate to Great Southern Trail - as Limerick Council no longer welcome the association with that name. I am trying to rectify this issue, and have been receiving help on the live chat room, where I was also just told I must disclose my association with the article. I have been contracted to help their public relations, a task was given to me to set up a new wiki page to distance from the Great Southern Trail. I am being paid my regular monthly salary, which in turn will pay me for my efforts on behalf of Limerick City & County Council. I hope this makes sense, and you can advise on how I can fix my article. Thank you! Limerickwiki22 (talk) 16:18, 19 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Naming your employer, not just your client, is one of the requirements. — jmcgnh(talk) (contribs) 16:28, 19 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
We already have an article Great Southern Trail that includes details of Limerick Greenway, the fact that "Limerick Council no longer welcome the association with that name" is of no concern to Wikipedia. Theroadislong (talk) 16:32, 19 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Therodislong, Is there a way to change this? As Limerick Greenway and the Great Southern Trail are not the same thing. This article has outdated information, whereas the article we have created adds new and updated information. I want to do this correctly, and am willing to disclose all information needed, I am just confused as to how to create this page and have the draft accepted. Limerickwiki22 (talk) 16:37, 19 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
According to their website http://www.southerntrail.net Limerick Greenway is part of them. Theroadislong (talk) 19:09, 19 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Theroadislong please see https://www.limerick.ie/greenway - They are not the same thing anymore. However, I can understand your confusion. Limerickwiki22 (talk) 14:12, 20 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
You will need to discuss this on the Great Southern Trail article talk page using the request edit process. Theroadislong (talk) 14:21, 20 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
