Hi, thanks for contributing to the Panama Canal article. However, I don't think that Gerster belongs in the lead section of the article, since his contribution was relatively minor; in fact, he wasn't involved at all with the present canal (designed and built by the USA). If anyone was to be mentioned in the lead of the main article, it would surely be Goethals.
