Too serious
Hi Matthew,
I noticed your comment on
Green Monster
Hi there. I did most of the original work on the "Big Dig" article, and was surprised to find that the guy who "wrote the book" on the project used that term ... which I for one had ever heard only in reference to Fenway Park's more famous "Green Monster". I put it in the article in deference to his expertise. I imagine you found the reference confusing for the same reason. We'll let it stand as you left it. BTW, as if it's not weird enough for a guy from Montana going to school in SoCal, you had to go read up on the East Coast too! Sfahey 03:15, 29 Jan 2005 (UTC)

I like your changes. I read over them and added some text. You may wish to add yourself to Wikipedia:Wikipedians/Montana (or not). Hyacinth 22:16, 19 Apr 2005 (UTC)
Adams in color
Not wanting to clog the FPC page with discussion (more than I already am doing)... I was surprised to find that Adams did do some later work in color, although this book of the results [1] doesn't seem to be that well received. - Solipsist 19:25, 26 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Inclusions not Deletions
Are you an inclusionist? Can you take a look at the Talk on apartheid? There is a editor Jayjg that keeps trying to delete a factual 2-Word Inclusion. Thanks.6920923073 16:49, 21 Jun 2005 (UTC)
Thank you Matthew, for your input. I appreciate your recommendation to Jayjg to take a break and let those not so personally involved make educated decisions about neutrality.69.217.123.174 15:18, 22 Jun 2005 (UTC)
- Did you notice his recommendation that you do the same? Let's both take a break, ok? Jayjg (talk) 17:16, 22 Jun 2005 (UTC)
I see you like getting the last words.69.221.60.181 20:03, 22 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Apartheid
"my closing statement is simply to say that you haven't provided any counterarguments or refutations of my points (or anyone's really)."
Matthew, refutations are summed on the Talk page. Thanks. PS sorry about the earlier confusion. I thought AIW was about text inclusions, I have been corrected that it's about article inclusion/deletion.69.209.222.92 28 June 2005 19:50 (UTC)
Important VFD
Please see the VFD for commons:List of victims of the 1913 Great Lakes storm. This is of vital importance. This list and others like it are being pushed off of the entire Wikimedia project. It started at Wikipedia, where they were VFDd in favor of moving to Wikisource/Commons. Now they are being VFDd off Wikisource (they don't really belong there, since they are not original source texts), with people there saying they should be on WP/Commons, and it is also being VFDd on Commons, where people don't realize that Commons accepts texts (says so right on the Main Page). This will set a precedent for any user-created lists. -- BRIAN0918 22:25, 30 July 2005 (UTC)
Response
Yes, there's an explanation. As a result of being tired (having done RC patrol all day), I saw an anon IP address and the vandalism, and immediately clicked revert. You'll see that I immediately saw my mistake, and reverted myself back [2] within 5 seconds. I then proceeded to block the offender for 24 hours [3]. Thanks for your diligence! If there are any questions, let me know. Flcelloguy | A note? | Desk 21:16, 3 September 2005 (UTC)
P.S. Can you acknoledge this message? Thanks! Flcelloguy | A note? | Desk 21:18, 3 September 2005 (UTC)
- Thanks for your understanding; I'm probably going to get some rest now. Flcelloguy | A note? | Desk 21:24, 3 September 2005 (UTC)

Don't fear, there's no edit war on the cards. I look forwards to the new version!
User categorization
Greetings! Your user page hasn't been vandalized :-) --it was updated to use the new User Categorization scheme. I have categorized your User Page as a Wikipedian in Montana (Category:Wikipedians in Montana) since your name was listed on the Wikipedia:Wikipedians/Montana page. The Wikipedia:Wikipedians/Montana page is scheduled for deletion. Thanks! Roby Wayne Talk • Hist 23:19, 7 September 2005 (UTC)
re: vandalism
I don't know if this is "vandalism", really. Is the phrase "biting, complex" POV? Yeah, probably. But it's not like writing "booger" all over the article. The series of "yeah"s is, actually, the real chorus. There's a difference between a POV edit and vandalism.

Hi, you might want to join the mediation on this article. There was a slight revert conflict going on and we're going to try and solve it :) See
"TJWhite / Revolution" vandal
That particular vandal used a considerable number of sockpuppets to vandalize Wikipedia. He spammed his "revolution manifesto" all over, over a number of days... not merely to user talk pages, but overwriting quite a few Wikipedia articles with it. I blocked and blanket reverted. -- Curps 22:24, 16 April 2006 (UTC)
Request for assistance
I'd love to have your input on the List of people from Montana page that I have been working on enhancing. Despite your hatred, I hope that you can provide some information on your home state. Any additions/corrections would be greatly appreciated.

A tag has been placed on
]- Hi - thanks for the message. I can't delete the tag - I promise you, if I hadn't tagged it, someone else would have. Reread the above message for how to proceed. If you think the group is notable, by all means submit the info necessary to keep the article. On its face, however, it doesn't quite meet the level of notability. I've been wrong before, though, so go for it!
- Advice: first, put the {{hangon}} tag on the top of the article page - don't remove the CSD tag, just put this tag on top of that one, and do it right now if you haven't already. Next, find reliable, published sources and reference them in the article. Deletionists love sources, and the more of them the better. Finally, format the article like other articles about bands are formatted; see R.E.M., Simple Plan, Thursday, and other band entries for suggestions. Good luck, and happy editing - Baseball,Baby! balls•strikes 09:47, 12 July 2006 (UTC)]
