- de Crespigny's map shows Xiakou (Miankou) north of the river.
- I think Xiakou is modern-day Hankou, not Wuchang. My Chinese is just beginning level, but it looks to me like 漢口 is north of the river, and used to be called 夏口... ?

The Chinese Wikipedia article on Hankou actually was disavowing that Hankou == Xiakou (by contrast, the Wuchang article claimed that Wuchang == Xiakou). Bo Yang's works also indicated that Xiakou == Wuchang. Further, when later Ying Province (郢州) was established with Xiakou as its capital, there were multiple references to it being south of the Yangtze River. I think that the evidence is fairly strong that Xiakou == Wuchang. (That appeared to have changed later in Song Dynasty; by that point, Wuchang (which earlier referred to Ezhou) was at modern Wuchang, and modern Hankou began to be referred to at Xiakou. --Nlu (talk) 16:22, 28 April 2007 (UTC)

- No, I don't think we need protection, just to keep an eye on this particular IP. It has been noted on the talk page that this IP appears to be one with other users, so maybe since the vandal was blocked last time, he has begun using a public library or something. -- Elaich 09:06, 6 May 2007 (UTC)

Spamming in my arbCom case with User:Ideogram [[12]] (there are way too many diffs so just glance through his contributions and you'll see it) and stalk my contributions and POV pushing . [[13]] [[14]] [[15]] [[16]], disrupt Wikipedia:Changing username [[17]] [[18]] [[19]], wikilawyering, and spamming/canvassing [[20]] [[21]] [[22]]. Can you please stop him?? Vandalism advice, please
I reverted the latest in a series of linkspam additions to Ross Johnson this morning. An editor (usually coming from a BT dialup netblock but once as User:RossJJ keeps adding an external link advertising the services of a UK web designer with that name. A series of warnings to the latest IP's talk page woulndn't seem to accomplish much. The user has been warned once, but hasn't edited since then. I'd love to see this sprotected for a time, but I don't know if that's appropriate or where to request it. Thanks! -- BPMullins | Talk 15:54, 6 May 2007 (UTC)

Why am I being banned for things i'm not doing? I have a dynamic IP address, but my individual IP stays the same. Is someone else also using my IP address to do malicious edits? In refernce to http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk:216.221.96.202&redirect=no

Request for assistance
Greetings Nlu, I appreciate that you added protection for User talk:221.148.48.216. This IP is currently blocked (1 week), due to vandalism which I reported. However, vandals User:Firefox001 (now blocked 24h) and User:Pgdn001 (now blocked 24h), among others, which are sock puppet(s) of the IP as shown here: [25], have now used the user main page for the same soapboxing message with threats of legal action, and vandalism continues.
Update: another admin has helped block those users for 24h. At this time, I withdraw my urgent requests for immediate assistance. Thank you for any advice regarding this matter.

Timetable of Manchuria
- I have just finished to create a timetable of the History of Manchuria. There are still cells which remained uncomplete because i am not a specialist of the history of the Tungusic peoples. The borderlines in red are not poltical borders :they are geographical borders. The "postulat" which helped me to achieved that painful task was : most of the civilizations have been generated on valley regions (Indus valley for India, the Huangho and Yangze plain for China the Naktong River plain for Silla, the Yalu banks for Goguryeo etc...). Hence i divided that region in 5 parts which later become roughly the 5 provinces of modern Manchuria Inner Mnachuria (Liaoning, Jilin, Heilongjiang) Outer Manchuria (Amur Oblast, Khabarosk Krai and Martime/ Primorye).

- Wrong - editors can't move an article to another article that has already been created, so I copied and pasted. In addition, YUG's move from EOL to TEOL deleted the orginal article EOL and all the previous edits. The article was not properly merged. It would be nice if an administrator could get the original EOL article back so those edits can be properly merged. Thank you BirdHunters 16:01, 10 May 2007 (UTC)
