Wikipedia and copyright

Control copyright icon Hello Okiloma! Your additions to

suitably-free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism
issues.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Moneytrees🏝️(Talk) 03:24, 17 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Thank you for letting me know this. In the future I'll stick to this. 8:54, 7/17/2022 (EST) [Okiloma] Okiloma (talk) 12:55, 17 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Moneytrees🏝️, I've again improved the same article again without breaching the copyright of the Wiki. Please have a look at it now. 8:54, 7/21/2022 (EST) [Okiloma] Okiloma (talk) 12:55, 21 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I've reworded your recent editions, as they were still too close to the sources; you can see the rewrites I did in this edit. While your effort to rewrite is appreciated, you need to focus on summarizing the source rather then saying what it is saying verbatim. Moneytrees🏝️(Talk) 00:01, 22 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, Now I understood. I will adherent to it in my future edits. Thank you for guiding me. Okiloma (talk) 13:33, 22 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

You are referring information of a District to a City and hard words in the comment

Hello Okiloma, In your Changes in religious statics of Puttalam You are referring Puttalam District. Buddhist are majorities in the Puttalam District while Muslims are majorities In Puttalam City. In the Source:statistics.gov.lk, You can verify these data. Puttalam and Puttalam District is not same. Please, Revert your changes. @Mafasdeen7 Mafas Deen 19:26, 24 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, I'm not aware of this. Thank you for enlightening me. And that's not a hard word. As I could not verify the source, I used the word "vandalism." No offence. Okiloma (talk) 18:18, 25 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Tips
  • Don't be afraid to edit! Just find something that can be improved and make it better. Other editors will help fix any mistakes you make.
  • It's normal to feel a little overwhelmed, but don't worry if you don't understand everything at first—it's fine to edit using common sense.
  • If an edit you make is reverted, you can
discuss the issue at the article's talk page. Be civil, and don't restore the edit unless there is consensus
    .
  • Always use edit summaries to explain your changes.
  • When adding new content to an article, always include a citation to a reliable source.
  • If you wish to edit about a subject with which you are affiliated, read our conflict of interest guide and disclose your connection.
  • Have fun! Your presence in the Wikipedia community is welcome.
