November 2011 Hello! I'm a bot created by another Wikipedia editor. I wanted to let you know that I removed a link that you recently added to the page Rhys Jewkes here. I did this because http://www.youtube.com/TheResistantFilms is probably inappropriate for an encyclopedia. We generally try to avoid linking to external audio or video.

We appreciate your help in making Wikipedia better for everyone. If I made a mistake, feel free to undo my edit. If you have any questions, you can ask at the Help desk.

Thank you! --XLinkBot (talk) 22:26, 30 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Ostreicher. If you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

  1. editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to you, your organization or its competitors; and
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).

Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see

our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. Guerillero | My Talk 00:54, 1 December 2011 (UTC)[reply

Your recent edits

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to

talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You could also click on the signature button or located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 02:12, 1 December 2011 (UTC)[reply

Hello, Ostreicher, and thanks for your contributions to Wikipedia!

I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you worked on, Dead by Dawn (YouTube Movie), for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:

  1. edit the page
  2. remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. save the page

It helps to explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you have any questions, feel free to ask on the Help Desk. Thanks again for contributing! reddogsix (talk) 03:02, 1 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You have been
legal threats. Per policy, you may not simultaneously edit Wikipedia while threatening legal action. You are, of course, welcome to file a lawsuit, but cannot edit at the same time. Any admin may unblock you so long as you are willing to retract your legal threats here on this talk page. If you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. Qwyrxian (talk) 03:12, 1 December 2011 (UTC)[reply

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an
administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

I will agree not to file a lawsuit. But you have to agree to stop deleting every damn article i post. I am an actor and want to express this with the article about me and the article about our movie. Rhys Jewkes 04:12, 1 December 2011 (UTC)

Decline reason:

We don't get to write about ourselves on Wikipedia. Period. --jpgordon::==( o ) 04:24, 1 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Sorry, but that kind of response is unlikely to have the result you desire. This is an online encyclopaedia, not a free webhosting service, and we have policies and standards regarding article content. Most significantly, we have

conflict of interest guidelines. I suggest you read our policies, and then ask yourself whether your works are likely to merit an article on Wikipedia. If they do, you might do best to leave it to others to do this in any case. You should also note that (with certain exceptions), all articles are open to anyone to edit - which means that an article about yourself may not always be in your best interest, if properly-sourced negative material becomes available - having a biography on Wikipedia isn't always advantageous. Now I understand why this place is so fucking shit. Because the Admins are fucking retards. Here is Danielle Harris's wiki http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Danielle_Harris she is a friend of mine. On there people have wrote more about her then I did about myself. Yet you guys have the guts to delete my shit and not other peoples. I had hardly nothing wrote on my page. All i had on my page was My name, DOB, Look at my movie dead by dawn and a list of upcoming movies.

Firstly, I'm not an admin (or a retard). And secondly, if this place is 'fucking shit', why are you wasting your time trying to get your material into it? I suggest you concentrate on your acting career, and employ an agent to look after your PR - you seem to lack the necessary skills for the latter at least... AndyTheGrump (talk) 05:16, 1 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
On there people have wrote more about her then I did about myself. - the key word being "people". Wikipedia is not a place to establish your autobiography, curriculum vitae, or resume. If you are notable, people will write about you. - The Bushranger One ping only 05:53, 1 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Withdrawing your talk page access

  • You cannot misuse discussion forums to demean editors here on Wikipedia. From fucking retards to pricks, you've traversed quite some distance in your verbosity. I have withdrawn your editing powers on this talk page. You may still appeal this block by emailing unblock-en-l@lists.wikimedia.org or contacting the
    ban appeals subcommittee. In case you require assistance in emailing the functionaries, you can directly email me too. Thanks. Wifione Message 07:23, 1 December 2011 (UTC)[reply

Where does he retract the legal threat? He states that the withdrawal is conditional on him being allowed to restore his articles. In any case, even if he had, he seems utterly incapable of understanding how Wikipedia works, and is only here to promote himself. AndyTheGrump (talk) 20:21, 1 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Fair enough point that the retraction wasn't acceptable, but rather than explaining that to them, the unblock request is declined because, "We don't get to write about ourselves on Wikipedia. Period." That, for one, wasn't helpful in the least (and is in contrast to our very carefully worded
COI guideline). Secondly, looking through this user's contribs, I see nothing to suggest that this was anything other than a new user editing in good faith, and I'll remind you that their articles were deleted under A7, not because they were promotional. Thirdly, you stopped being helpful after your first comment here: snide, condescending remarks such as, "I suggest you concentrate on your acting career, and employ an agent to look after your PR - you seem to lack the necessary skills for the latter at least" (and for that matter, "why Swarm is commenting here, I've no idea") are rarely if ever going to be anything but completely counterproductive. Swarm X 20:46, 1 December 2011 (UTC)[reply

It wasn't me that wrote "We don't get to write about ourselves on Wikipedia. Period". And why are you commenting here? If you think this wasn't handled properly, wouldn't it be better to bring it up where people are more likely to respond? As for 'snide, condescending remarks', you seem to have made your own... AndyTheGrump (talk) 21:02, 1 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
