Autopatrolled granted

Hi PD Slessor, I just wanted to let you know that I have added the autopatrolled user right to your account for a 90 day period, at the end of which you may apply for permanent extension for the right. This means that pages you create will automatically be marked as 'reviewed', and no longer appear in the new pages feed. Autopatrolled is assigned to prolific creators of articles, where those articles do not require further review, and may have been requested on your behalf by someone else. It doesn't affect how you edit; it is used only to manage the workload of new page patrollers.

Since the articles you create will no longer be systematically reviewed by other editors, it is important that you maintain the high standard you have achieved so far in all your future creations. Please also try to remember to add relevant WikiProject templates, stub tags, categories, and incoming links to them, if you aren't already in the habit; user scripts such as Rater and StubSorter can help with this. As you have already shown that you have a strong grasp of Wikipedia's core content policies, you might also consider volunteering to become a new page patroller yourself, helping to uphold the project's standards and encourage other good faith article writers.

Feel free to leave me a message if you have any questions. Happy editing! Chetsford (talk) 19:55, 3 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you. I am getting back to making articles, but would love to do NPP and help with the back log. Easier to review than create sometimes. May I request? @Chetsford PD Slessor (talk) 09:45, 12 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
That's fine, but can you make the request at
WP:PERM? For NPP I have to add you to the distribution list (in addition to applying the permission to your account) and I can't do that from your Talk page. Chetsford (talk) 03:53, 13 December 2023 (UTC)[reply
]
@Chetsford Done. I left a message on your talk page. PD Slessor (talk) 05:02, 13 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

There was no justification for it.

The reason for why barry took off my edits is simply hypocritical. He's allowing the "Megamind memes dominate the internet 12 years after release" and "Ahead of its time" sources on there (in which I literally am the one who put those 2 sources there in the first place.) But he's not allowing the objectively better one with more information on it. Nobody has said anything bad about the current edit I've made and nor do I see anything wrong with the edit itself. 2603:6000:B800:EB4:D508:179B:1BEF:736E (talk) 03:56, 14 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Take it to talk page, and consider making an account. The page in question has historically been the victim of vandalism and disruptive editing. If you are 100% confident in your edit, feel free to revert, but be prepared to takeit to ANI if your edit is undone again. PD Slessor (talk) 04:09, 14 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Kenyan Life

First of all, thank you so very much for creating articles about Kenyan politicians; biographies of Africans are unfortunately underrepresented on WP. With that being said, I noticed that you have been using the source "Kenyan Life" for some of these biographies, sometimes to reference a controversy the subject was involved in. This site is not a

reliable source; it does not offer a clear distinction between opinion and reporting [1], and hosts blatantly promotional content [2]. Biographies of living people can not have contentious infromation sourced to unreliable sources; and regardless, anything useful reported on that site probably also exists on a reliable newspaper source (as was the case for Joe Mutambu. To be clear, you are good at writing articles, and most of the sources you use are reliable. Cheers, Mach61 (talk) 04:30, 14 December 2023 (UTC)[reply
]

Thank you for the comment. My mother was heavily involved with an American NGO that worked in Kenya, and growing up always showed us photos and said we would go when we were a little bit older. She unfortunately passed, but had a heart for Kenya and did everything she could to raise awareness for it. I, have still not been to Kenya unfortunately, and did not realize that source wasn't reliable, but I will make sure to make a note of this. PD Slessor (talk) 05:11, 14 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Amini (startup) moved to draftspace

Thanks for your contributions to Amini (startup). Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability and Not the only good source; all (of them} are routine announcements of $4 million raised.. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. BoraVoro (talk) 08:34, 14 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@BoraVoro, appreciate your feedback and understand the need for more comprehensive sources to establish notability of a topic. But I have moved back to mainspace for now, but welcome and encourage any assistance. This is not routine, and I would say this listing also demonstrates notability imho. Please, note that inline references must be added next to the text they support. I noticed that, at least in David Karithi and Kubai Iringo you added references that, as far as I can see, arenot related to the preceding text. MarioGom (talk) 21:38, 14 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Phrases such as "work towards providing environmental insights that can enable economic opportunities for farmers and drive systemic change across Africa" is a glittering generality that is not consistent with the neutral, formal tone typical of an encyclopedia. I'm so sorry for letting you down @Chetsford, I felt like the stakes were so high, and your compliments set a high bar. Amidst the pressure and desire to fulfill what seemed like "my purpose," I dastardly failed PD Slessor (talk) 22:13, 14 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
PD Slessor, you didn't fail. You are learning and improving. I've been editing here for 10 years and I still have editors coming to my user talk page "correcting" me. Critique is part of working on a collaborative editing project. Some editors can't handle criticism and decide to quit. But if you read through the message and find elements you can learn from, and not take critiques about editing decision to be personal, then they can help you become a better editor. And that's the goal, that's why Chetsford took the time to comment here. And I doubt you can find an active content creator who hasn't had an article they created nominated for deletion consideration. It can hurt but, again, that's how you learn the ropes. Liz Read! I've left a comment on your Articles for Creation submission, which can be viewed at Draft:Amini (startup). Thanks! Star Mississippi 15:11, 21 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hey @Star Mississippi I have done what I said and was asked via consensus. Kate Kallot is now live and Amini (startup) is redirected to it. PD Slessor (talk) 00:31, 4 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Use of dynamic IP? My IP changes on my "home network" which is provided by a cellular based router. The area Im in gets awful wifi, so we use routers that work like a cellphone hotspot. and I also travel for work occasionally. What reason did I get blocked for? I didn't do anything wrong... PD Slessor (talk) 01:57, 4 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

Your question was answered below; the request otherwise does not address why you were blocked. — Daniel Case (talk) 07:40, 4 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

What do I do to fix this? PD Slessor (talk) 02:05, 4 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • I do not respond to appeals via email. You are blocked because technical evidence suggests that you are (1) the same person as Cray04 and (2) deliberately trying to obfuscate that connection. The details are available for review by other checkusers. --Blablubbs (talk) 02:20, 4 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
