Hello, my name is Catherine Balavage, there was a wikipedia page about me but it has been deleted. It was here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Catherine_Balavage

I did not put the page up (and I do not know who did),but I am annoyed that it has been deleted for no good reason. It was well written and had proper citation. I want to contest this and also know who deleted it. I also own a magazine, which was deleted from wikipedia at exactly the same time. You did put the page up the first time round. Unfortunately, your career as listed at Spotlight (and which is user or agent supplied, and thus not a reliable source for use here) only appears to show minor roles, or roles in productions by student or otherwise non-notable organisations. As to the magazine, I didn't delete that, but can understand why it went. It was sourced entirely to the magazine's own website, and showed no notability. Interviewing notable people doesn't necessarily cascade notability down. Notability has to be shown in independent reliable sources, not own sites or user/agent supplied directories. Please see

I will look for verifiable documented sources and post back. I know this is true since my father died at this facility of a heart attack being lured by their marketing. There are other instances that I have heard of sicne then. I personally have knowledge of the medical facilities they lack since these could have saved my father's life. They probably could - but unless it's on record somewhere we can't use it. For this sort of thing, I would advise doubling the references - have sources that support sources, so to speak. And you must write neutrally - 'aggressive advertising' is not really a neutral description. Don't forget that lawyers can have a field day with expressed opinions. Sorry, but you are missing the point entirely. The CSD tag for nonsense is only for stuff like 'yrtxuyyuvu' or 'sunk aardvark pointillist supersede'. This article is written in coherent English. You are raising matters of content which should be discussed on the talk page (and it's way out of my areas of expertise, so don't expect help or opposition from me, except perhaps on matters of Wikipedia rules). If no consensus is reached there, there are further procedures. If consensus is reached, but not the way you think it should be, I'm afraid that you will have to abide by it. Hello, I see that you've deleted the page for the artist "The Never Setting Suns," which was marked for speedy deletion for having no content of importance or significance. I posted this article and after the mark was made for speedy deletion I contested the claim on the talk page explaining and further citing a vital claim to significance and importance, that Standford University acquired the non-exclusive rights to a song by the artist for a series of web documentaries. To be honest, I can't see why this is a claim to notability - under our definition of notability. Look at

WP:CRYSTAL we can't take account of the unknown future. Wikipedia is an encyclopaedia which records things of note that are or have been, not things that may be some day. Also, independent reliable sources are needed to show notability - not uni sites or ones connected to you. Another point is that the video in question appears to be made and used by the Stanford Alumni not the uni itself. I haven't a clue. User:MZMcBride should be able to tell you - it seems to be one of his tools. Stalking is usually what people are accused of when they keep reverting a particular user's edits, but there are talkpage stalkers too. (Last time I looked, there were 50 users with this page on their watchlist, and some of them pop in to sort problems if I don't seem to be around.) This tool might be a way of measuring stalking, or something totally different like counting the use of the word 'stalk'. There are dozens of odd tools around that people like me and you never even get to hear of. I can't find instructions for this one. Hang on, think I've got something. It was probably used in connection with the SPI to correlate edits by both of you. Still don't know what it means, though. I didn't know about that SPI - I'd have done some digging myself if I had... OK; here I thought you were practically omniscient. :D I further thought this came in the Gold Members' Admin's toolbag. Yes, they used it in the SPI to see if the alleged sock and I were editing in the same time and place. A veteran user said that's not how to identify a sock, and I pointed out lots of editors edit at the same time and place. Those numbers have advanced a few notches. ??? I'll ask McBride. An arbitrator ran a checkuser and cleared me, so all ended well, at least for me. The alleged sock got himself blocked due to behavior on a different article. I'm not sure if he was, in fact, a sock, or maybe an IP editor using a new account, or maybe just some poor newbie who didn't catch on to the rules fast enough. The first time--a couple of years ago, now--I tried editing on a controversial article it was so nasty I nearly quit. Dave souza coached me, bless him. Cheers! Help with Deleted page Omniverse TV

• Hi Peridon, not sure why Omniverse TV was deleted, or what I need to do to keep it active. Omniverse TV is an unwired network that is distributed over the air, internet and on Roku in the US. I see other channels that are also on Roku have Wikipedia pages, is there something they have that we are missing?

I wouldn't know about the others, but yours was worded promotionally ('offering' and 'Omniverse TV is a consumer and affiliate platform of new, different, entertaining and engaging family friendly movies' - whatever that means) and gave no indication of notability. And no references from independent reliable sources to back up the notability, either... It isn't always people's intent to promote, they are in business and have got into the habit of writing that way. (It can be counter-productive, in fact, as people not in business often can't understand it, and those who are in business can see through it.) Look at

Sorry, but I don't think there's anything you can add. It's not a question of categories or references - it's just plain simple notability. Have a look at

WP:ATHLETE and see if you can make the team fit. The PSL Kickball championship isn't really notable enough, in my opinion. It's a purely local thing (OK, Philadelphia is quite big, but, with all due respect, kickball is quite small). I said references weren't the question - not for this deletion. If you can provide sufficient non-trivial, independent reliable sources, it might help - but only if you can show that local league amateur kickball is in any way notable in the first place. Very good points and I like the fact you focus on details, accuracy, and precision.

I'm spending extra energy here because I expect when I write about Stephen Covey's method, John Wooden's method, and Edward de Bono's method, that it will be faster and easier, once I fully understand the criteria and common pitfalls.

These look like useful examples:

• A review article, monograph, or textbook is better than a primary research paper
• Academic and peer-reviewed publications, scholarly monographs, and textbooks are usually the most reliable sources
• Material such as an article, book, monograph, or research paper that has been vetted by the scholarly community

I do have another question, but I don't want to change focus yet. In the spirit of this line of reasoning, I want to check your thinking on a piece of information that I did not see you address or point out. Specifically, the fact that the author has published multiple books with Microsoft Press since 2001. Your original analysis sounded as if J.D. Meier was a new author and wrote a self-published book.

This looks like an especially interesting point:

• Self-published material may be acceptable when produced by an established expert on the topic of the article whose work in the relevant field has previously been published by reliable third-party publications.

It's interesting because of the following point:

• J.D. Meier is an established author of multiple books published by Microsoft Press.

This looks like the list of books he authored, that are published by Microsoft Press:

• Building Secure ASP.NET Applications
• Improving .NET Application Performance
• Improving Web Application Security
• Microsoft Application Architecture Guide
• Team Development with Visual Studio Team System

The books are listed on the blog at http://blogs.msdn.com/b/jmeier/ and available on Amazon. The books are also available on MSDN as authoritative works from the Microsoft patterns & practices group, which indludes peer revciews by industry experts.

None of the claims in the original page for Getting Results the Agile Way involve claims about third parties or events, and there does not seem to be any doubt about authenticity.

It looks like the correct source to cite is the actual book on Getting Results.com, and the source is from an established author for Microsoft Press, it seems reasonable that the page addresses the notable question.

But are the books with Microsoft Press relevant to the subject in question here? There could be a scientist (call him Darles Charwin if you like), who has written many erudite scientific papers. Then out of the blue, he writes a romantic bodice-ripper, and publishes it himself. Is that book notable by itself, or possible just a note in his article (assuming he has one - rappers find it easier to get articles than do scientists...)? If Meier is notable for his work for MP, why isn't there an article about him? (Going to bed - haven't checked if there is, but his name wasn't blue linked so far as I can remember.) One last point - we're not disputing existence. Hoaxes are easy to sort, most of the time. But you can't use blogs, and must make reference to independent reliable sources.

• Relevancy is a good question. It looks like three books are on systems, and the Team Development book is on project management and software processes, including Agile methods. Here is a direct quote from chapter 2 of Getting Results the Agile Way, which looks like it draws from the experience: "Agile Results is a system for results. It’s a simple system optimized around time. It’s a collection of principles, patterns, and practices for getting results. It draws from lessons learned as well as from bodies of knowledge in project management, software engineering, and personal development."

So far as I can see, Lifehack.org could be classed as a blog and also " Lifehack.org is a community" (their Twitter profile), and Hanselman has been deleted here four times (OK, make it three - the first was for not having enough content). Here's the second AfD discussion: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Scott Hanselman (2nd nomination). The problem with a 'community' is the same as Wikipedia's. WP is regarded worldwide as a pretty good authority on most things. We don't accept WP as a source because it is a community. Even though there is (as you have found out) very keen monitoring. Thanks. I don't usually go neutral. I'm glad you came back as I think you could become a good admin - and do a good job anyway. I hadn't seriously thought about becoming an admin until Anthony B contacted me and suggested it. It's quit a lot different to what I expected - in the areas I work in there's one heck of a lot of explaining to do. (It's better than selling used cars - people can't thump you...) Not important or segnificant

I recently made a page, which was deleted in like 4 minutes, I didn't even get the time to write anything about it. I got a message saying that it wasn't important or segnificant. Perhaps if you gave me the chance to write the page you will understand what segnificants it has. I noticed the same thing happened to another article about an "Unpublished/finished" book, that was also deleted. I deleted it nine hours after it was tagged. It didn't show any significance, and we get quite a few articles that are started and then abandoned. As it stands now, you need to add references complying with
