Dale Wilson

Hi Planetjanet, I reverted your edit to Dale Wilson because the name is never used in Low Tier God. I'm guessing that Low Tier God is his real name, but the article never says so. Leschnei (talk) 14:10, 5 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

You're guessing that ‘Low Tier God’ is his real name? Planetjanet (talk) 03:13, 6 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
The name Wilson suddenly appeared at the end of the article. It wasn't entirely clear who it referred to. And people have changed their names to stranger things than 'Low Tier God'.

Leschnei (talk) 20:58, 6 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Which is why I added him to the disambiguation page. His birth name is widely used in the Fighting Game Community, so I don't see the point of removing it from the page. If a user comes across a reference to the basketball player formerly known as Ron Artest, should they not be redirected by Wikipedia's system (https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Ron_Artest&redirect=no) in this way? Planetjanet (talk) 21:48, 6 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
The difference is that 'Ron Artest' is mentioned in the article, so it's logical to redirect
Ron Artest to Metta Sandiford-Artest. If Low Tier God's real name is Dale Wilson, why no say so in the article. Then it would be logical to list it on Dale Wilson. As the article is worded now, 'Wilson' just appeaers, with no explanation, in the middle of the article. And 'Dale' is never mentioned. I'm not making the edit to Low Tier God myself because I have no idea what his birth name is. Leschnei (talk) 23:09, 7 November 2021 (UTC)[reply

Are major Spanish newspapers accepted as reliable sources for BLPs on the English Wikipedia? Because I may have found a source for his birth name. Planetjanet (talk) 02:42, 8 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I discussed this with administrator Cullen328 here, I will be updating his biography and the disambiguation page tonight with the appropriate reference. Planetjanet (talk) 23:27, 8 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I'm glad that you found a reference for this - could you please use the reference in the article but remove it from
WP:DABREF), references should be included in articles, where they support the actual content. Thanks, Leschnei (talk) 23:22, 9 November 2021 (UTC)[reply

No problem. Planetjanet (talk) 01:58, 14 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent editing history shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See the bold, revert, discuss cycle for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. 63.155.103.206 (talk) 09:02, 24 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
