We don't cite mirrors of Wikipedia

I see you've been adding suggested "Addition Of Citation" to various talk pages, such as this. That site merely mirrors Wikipedia and that page is taken directly from Wikipedia; it absolutely cannot be used as a source for Wikipedia or for verification - see Wikipedia:Mirrors and forks. Such postings are also futile in that they will not serve as any form of SEO for those sites (Wikipedia is configured to frustrate and nullify such attempts) so they merely waste editors' time. Please don't do that any more. NebY (talk) 14:22, 13 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

You asked on an article talk page "Could you please offer guidance on the recommended links for updating citations on the Wikipedia platform?" There are tutorials at

Help:Introduction to referencing with VisualEditor, and our page Wikipedia:Verifiability goes into more detail on why we require citations and what sources are appropriate. If you then require further guidance, you can raise questions at the Wikipedia Teahouse. NebY (talk) 11:04, 15 January 2024 (UTC)[reply
