Information icon Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, such as at Wikipedia:Teahouse, (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment, or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Welcome

Hello, Quinndo and welcome to Wikipedia! It appears you are participating in a class project. If you haven't done so already, we encourage you to go through our training for students. Go through our online training for students

If you need help, check out

.

Before you create an article, make sure you understand

some things are not
.

Your instructor or professor may wish to set up a course page, and if your class doesn't already have one please tell your instructor about that. It is highly recommended that you place this text: {{Educational assignment}} on the talk page of any articles you are working on as part of your Wikipedia-related course assignment. This will let other editors know this article is a subject of an educational assignment and aid your communication with them.

We hope you like it here and encourage you to stay even after your assignment is finished!

Holgate

Wikipedia articles about people are not resume dumps. I left a few comments on the article's Talk page. David notMD (talk) 20:12, 26 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you @David notMD:. I am trying to improve the content of the article. If you have any suggestions, please let me know! Thank you!Quinndo (talk) 02:55, 27 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Recommend you stop adding to the article now. I deleted some content that mentioned her only briefly, also other people's charity events for which she was only a participant, not a creator and sustainer. David notMD (talk) 12:28, 28 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Would you mind reconsidering the deletion. Although she is not the host, she participated in the events and raised fund. Especially, Odyssey House, Vinnies CEO Sleepout and the "Cure Brain Cancer Foundation". They are all her contribution to Australian society and she deserved to be credited for her charitable work. Also, tomorrow is the due date for my assignment. Could you recommend somewhere I could publish the work and get checked before publishing on the main article? This assignment is really important. Christine Holgate is also an important person too. There are more things people should know about her. Thank you! Quinndo (talk) 12:57, 28 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Philanthropy mentions in Wikipedia articles tend to be on organizations the people started and played a significant role in sustaining. The organizations Holgate contributed to or participated in, while admirable, were not hers. As to your question about having your content additions (or subtractions) looked at, Wikipedia's philosophy is "BRD." This refers to being Bold in your changes, but if Reverted, go to the Talk page to Discuss in an attempt to reach consensus. As we have done. I will conclude that in my opinion you have improved this article, and I hope that on your own, you decide to continue to be a Wikipedia editor, improving existing articles and perhaps creating articles. David notMD (talk) 11:26, 29 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I upgraded the article from Stub to Start. David notMD (talk) 11:47, 29 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
