Welcome!

Hello, Quinnnnnby, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited was

conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral
and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! Robert McClenon (talk) 23:09, 30 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Robert McClenon, thanks for the warm welcome! I think there is some sort of mix up, as there is no COI, I think it was just that I mentioned I had edited some similar pages on my user page. I have no affiliation to the subject of the article and the vast majority of what I have done is from the translation of the Bulgarian wikipedia page. I have added several sources now to back up the information. If you have any pointers of how the article could be made more neutral or improved in any way, it would be great if you could let me know and I'll make the changes as soon as I can. Thanks Quinnnnnby (talk) 17:23, 31 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Just a question

Just a quick question… how did you get the alleged results of the 2022 Northern Ireland Assembly Election before they came in? Like you updated the number of seats before the results came in live, just seems a bit suspicious to me that you seem to have inside (and sometimes false) knowledge about which parties get which seats before the counters of the votes do. As of writing this for example you have called 89 seats whereas the live results have only called 87. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A02:C7F:14B4:3400:A912:D4DC:1257:2D73 (talk) 18:12, 7 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I got them from the Ireland Elects site. They are faster at reporting the results than the BBC. However, they made a mistake earlier. Hope this explains things :) Quinby (talk) 18:20, 7 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

On 7 May 2022, In the news was updated with an item that involved the article 2022 Northern Ireland Assembly election, which you updated. If you know of another recently created or updated article suitable for inclusion in ITN, please suggest it on the candidates page. Black Kite (talk) 22:04, 7 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Nigerian maps

Hi Quinby, your election maps are great so I wanted to ask about other potential maps you could make. As next year's 2023 Nigerian elections near, I'm asking you (and other good mappers) if you'd like to make some maps for the elections. There will be about three dozen executive elections (presidential and gubernatorial races) and another 40+ legislative elections (National and State assemblies); for these, a ton (100+) of maps could be made that could greatly expand wiki's Nigerian (and African) election coverage. Thanks for your consideration! Watercheetah99 (talk) 20:57, 30 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

OrphanReferenceFixer: Help on reversion

Hi there! I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. Recently, you reverted my fix to Opinion polling for the 2023 Czech presidential election.

If you did this because the references should be removed from the article, you have misunderstood the situation. Most likely, the article originally contained both <ref name="foo">...</ref> and one or more <ref name="foo"/> referring to it. Someone then removed the <ref name="foo">...</ref> but left the <ref name="foo"/>, which results in a big red error in the article. I replaced one of the remaining <ref name="foo"/> with a copy of the <ref name="foo">...</ref>; I did not re-insert the reference to where it was deleted, I just replaced one of the remaining instances. What you need to do to fix it is to make sure you remove all instances of the named reference so as to not leave any big red error.

If you reverted because I made an actual mistake, please be sure to also correct any reference errors in the page so I won't come back and make the same mistake again. Also, please post an error report at User talk:AnomieBOT so my operator can fix me! If the error is so urgent that I need to be stopped, also post a message at User:AnomieBOT/shutoff/OrphanReferenceFixer. Thanks! SVGs

Heya! Could you upload versions of your beautiful election SVGs that have text that could be translated? Baking it into the SVG means we cannot use your gorgeous SVGs on other language versions easily. I would love to see your work spread to as many Wikipedias as possible :) Thanks! - Yupik (talk) 15:10, 26 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Yupik, do you have any particular requests? I have been embedding the text to the SVG because otherwise Wikipedia can distort it, but I'm happy to upload ones with the text as separate files. Thanks Quinby (talk) 16:34, 26 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I hear that; sometimes it can be so frustrating when it gets distorted! The one that I was thinking about recently was the file for the first round of the 2023 Czech presidential elections. The candidate names are fine being embedded (at least for Inari Sámi), but the other labels I would have to change. Thanks! -Yupik (talk) 18:56, 26 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, it has been uploaded @Yupik.
Quinby (talk) 23:00, 26 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you/Takkâ! I'll get cracking on translating it this weekend :) -Yupik (talk) 04:28, 27 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Guatemalan general election graphic

Hi, thanks for the graph of the graphic on the 2023 Guatemalan general election. By the way, I would like to know what software do you use to make this graph? I would like to support other articles, but it is something that I am deeply unaware of. Greetings. Lord Maximoff (talk) 21:33, 23 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Lord Maximoff Hi, I use RStudio primarily to code and generate the graphs. I also adapt them a bit in inkscape, though that is a minor step in the process. It takes quite a while to learn, but there's a lot of resources and github sites which have the code to help build these types of graphs. If you need any specific help, I'm happy to provide what I can (though my knowledge is quite limited). Regards, Quinby (talk) 21:51, 23 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi. Thanks for your answer. I've been trying to make graphs with R, but they're still not good enough to put on Wikipedia.
By the way, could you update the graph of Guatemala? please. Greetings. Lord Maximoff (talk) 17:02, 28 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, excuse me, could you update the diagram of the 2023 Guatemalan presidential poll again? Thank you. Lord Maximoff (talk) 15:17, 19 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, sorry, could you add Arévalo and Castillo to the opinion polls graph? Thanks. Lord Maximoff (talk) 06:02, 26 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Lord Maximoff Apologies for the late reply, I was away from my laptop due to a holiday. I will update it today, and set up the code for a potential second round graph. Quinby (talk) 14:27, 8 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Slovenian election maps

Hello. Are you able to amend File:2022 Slovenian Presidential election, 1st round.svg and File:2022 Slovenian Presidential election, 2nd round.svg so they are identical sizes? Maybe it's my OCD, but it looks a bit odd on 2022 Slovenian presidential election when switching between the two maps in the infobox, as they don't quite align. Kennedy Jr.

Hey, @Quinnnnnby:. Great job on making a visualization of polling data for the 2024 United States presidential election

Could you additionally make a chart with RFK Jr. in it? (Since he's still polling ~10-12% on average.) Thanks. :) KlayCax (talk) 23:13, 15 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@KlayCax Hi, thanks for the message. I didn't realise my graph had been uploaded onto the main site, so sorry for the inaction! Hi@Quinnnnnby:: Your recent refresh of the 2024 polling file has rendered oddly on the 2024 United States presidential election page. Can you take a look? Thanks for this contribution. GreatCaesarsGhost 20:07, 16 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
