hurricane

Well, then the timeline should not include the beginning of the hurricane season and the end because they are just the same thing as the January thing. January said that if any hurricane form after this time, they will be in the 2005 hurricane season. June and November say that hurricanes are able to form more on this date. Wikipedia:Lamest edit wars ever

on my watchlist, and I saw an edit summary with "that's *really* lame" on it, I looked at the change and saw this user change "centered" to the word "centred", which I'd never heard before, so I thought this guy was purposely making a spelling error. Please be advised that I'd heard of many American-British/Australian spelling variants before, but not this one. It was a simple case of not understanding this one variant.)

it's lame to change from one spelling variant to another without a good reason. I have made it a personal policy to revert any cases of this, even when someone's changing to the correct spelling (however, most people change to the American spelling, since non-Americans ordinarly wouldn't dream of being so impolite). I had no clue that "centred" was even a word. I thought it was just a random change. I checked in my computer's dictionary (American), and it couldn't find the word, but upon further investigation via Google, it turns out there are some uses of it. Sorry for that. No. I meant, for example, take the 2006AHS. The Southern Hemisphere season has TWO seasons over a year (eg, 05-06 and 06-07 over 2006). Shouldnt the 2006AHS navbar link to both talk pages for the S.H. season?

For the others...I dunno, it might be right to link the years/decades since the whole article is about those years and decades. I switched the header back to 2006. The reason for this is that the bold part at the header of a page should generally be the same as the Wikipedia title for the page, and the Wikipedia title for the page is the most common name used in public (see

I noticed that you seemed to be a bit annoyed with me about the dates of some TC formation and dissappation. You said that you got the dates you have from the TCRs, but I get mine from Wikipedia itself. I believe that this is because of what timezone the dates are in. Example: Zeta formed on the 30th in the TCR, but on Wikipedia, it says the 29th. So maybe we should have a set timezone for all of these dates. I'm sorry, I got you mixed up with "SeventyThree" (edit: you figured that out now; I took too long writing this reply). These images are being tagged with a

, guideline 4, The material must have previously been published. In other words, to qualify for Wikipedia's definition of Fair Use, any uploaded image must have been previously published somewhere else. Without specifying a source, the image cannot be considered to fall under Wikipedia's Fair Use definition, and can be removed.

Also,

it is explained that...

For reusers, particularly commercial reusers, the most important part of a fair use description is good information on the original source of the image. That is essential to allow them to make their own determination of whether their own use is fair use. They can't rely on our judgment because they have legal liability regardless of what we say. Identifying the original source is good practice in general, as it bolsters our claim that we are not trying to defraud the original copyright holder.

In other words, if some lawyer comes here and says "Hey! This is my copyrighted image!", we need to be able to say "Wait! We only picked it from here" (we are not trying to defraud the original copyright holder, we are just using our Fair Use amendment... in any case, they should go to that site and request the source of that image, until they find the one who published the copyright material).

Also, any wikipedian should be able to go to the site from where the image was picked, and check it out, if only to see if it was cropped, resized, or anything. It is like the references that are used in articles so that others can confirm the information.

With the images that have been uploaded by others, we cannot say for sure whether they took the screenshot themselves, they scanned a magazine, or found them in a site. We need that information in order to know if the imges have been previously published and if so, from where, if the original publisher had a copyright policy, or if they are prosecuting people for displaying them. If not because

, from all we know, it may (extremely unlikely, but who knows) be possible that they stole them from Toei studio while they were being drawn ;-)

I hope this makes it a bit clear. I am still trying to find the right guideline, but I believe that, if you took the screenshot yourself, you can release it with a free license (like the GFDL, or Creative Commons), stating that you are the creator and give permission to to use it. However, while that applies to photographs, I am not sure if that is applied to screenshots, scannings, etc.
