Source for flag?
I'd like to reiterate the question from Image talk:Ilkhanate flag.png here. What is the source for this flag? What documentation do you have? --Latebird (talk) 18:35, 31 January 2008 (UTC)
- I believe I have cleared this up on the image's talk page, tell me if that is not enough confirmation though.
- Cool, thanks! Btw: Are you Tomislav Todorovic? If you're not, then the {{PD-Self}} tag would be incorrect, and needs to be replaced with a {{PD-author}}. --Latebird (talk) 18:49, 1 February 2008 (UTC)]

Why insist on this form?
The word derives only from Byzantine Greek, and the second vowel is an η. The rest of the word is Latinized; the only reason for the unique use of i is the interaction produced by transliterating first into Cyrillic and thence into the Roman alphabet. The standard authorities use e, from Ostrogorsky to the Oxford Dictionary of Byzantium. Septentrionalis PMAnderson 18:52, 13 February 2008 (UTC)
- I merely changed it because you created it as a "soft" re-direct instead of one that goes directly to the new page, and I think it would be better to keep it the way it is until the re-direct is working properly.Rcduggan (talk) 19:59, 13 February 2008 (UTC)
- Fine, I'll move straight; although I'm not sure what you mean by "soft redirect". I didn't see any double redirects, and the correct reaction to one would be to fix it. Septentrionalis PMAnderson 21:29, 13 February 2008 (UTC)
- I see I missed some; thanks. But do remember, there's a bot that fixes double redirects now. Septentrionalis PMAnderson 21:36, 13 February 2008 (UTC)

Balts map
Hello, thank you for pointing out the mistake in the map. I have changed the original version in SVG to reflect that Curonians were west Balts. Since the original is fixed, I don't think we need Image:Curonians fixed.png and Image:Baltic tribes c 1200 fixed.png as they are duplicates. Do you mind if I delete them? Thanks, Renata (talk) 16:41, 23 February 2008 (UTC)
- No, it's fine if you delete them, I just didn't know how to make an SVG file. Go ahead and remove te duplicates.
East-Hem_1025ad.jpg
Hi Rcduggan. Thank you for your note on the 1025 AD map. The map shows Fars and Kerman, it just doesn't list them as Buyids or Kakuyids. I believe it was the Buyids in control of both at this time. My sources are a few maps of Mahmud's Ghaznavid Sultanate and neighbors. The borders are based on maps like this one [1]. I haven't been able to find any other real evidence of a "Mukran" or a "Kusdar" except in the maps I used as sources. If you have any better information, please let me know and I'll fix the maps! Respectfully, Thomas Lessman (talk) 18:12, 11 March 2008 (UTC)
Hi. I saw you changed
Styalsitic borders
Hello, I was curious as to why you removed the styalistic border around Kingdom of Gwynedd?♦Drachenfyre♦·Talk 19:09, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
Mainly because they are only on that one page, I have never seen a border used anywhere else. Other nations have the former country infobox but not the border, so it is unnecessary for only one former country to have it. Rcduggan (talk) 19:11, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
I understand, no worries. I am placing styalistic borders around the info boxes around Gwynedd, Deheubarth, Powys, and Principality of Wales. One is in place on the Wales page. There is no wiki guideline which precludes this. It is a styalistic approach. What do you think otherwise? I plan on changing the color though.♦Drachenfyre♦·Talk 19:15, 7 April 2008 (UTC)

Three-revert rule
- Just a note as well about the message you posted on User talk:195.174.21.72 - sources don't have to be in English to be reliable and acceptable on Wikipedia. A translation is of course useful but not everything notable will have been written about in English. Stifle (talk) 19:18, 14 April 2008 (UTC)
- You are right about my violation of the 3RR, I apologize. How do we resolve that?
- And about the source, I was merely saying it was unreliable because it did not appear to be talking about the flag in question, but of course it could have because I do not know Turkish. I realize that it still could have been a credible source. Rcduggan (talk) 19:22, 14 April 2008 (UTC)
About flag of Göktürks
Website of Presidency of Republic of Turkey is a serious source. If you see the main page, you will see seriousness. The flag is in a lot of sources in Turkish, but the sources aren't English. Please be peaceful and coolheaded. Thanks... --Dsmurat (talk) 11:34, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
- I was just checking around for sources for the Gokturk flag, and it appears to be considered reliable, at least according to these sources. Also, see here for discussion why the last deletion failed (also here, but you knew that already). Fléêťflämẽ U-T-C 16:34, 15 April 2008 (UTC)

- The image may be removed from the article and not deleted; they're two different debates here. You do not have to delete the image to remove it from the article. I just noticed that it had been up for deletion before because of much the same grounds as you're debating, and the result was keep because of the information left on the image talk page--I believe I left you all the links (or see here). Also, you did not nominate for deletion correctly. Click "show" on the deletion template to see the extra steps. Fléêťflämẽ U-T-C 11:26, 17 April 2008 (UTC)
- I've replied at my talk page. Fléêťflämẽ U-T-C 20:51, 16 April 2008 (UTC)
Well, you have two options:
- You can list the image for deletion and try to keep a handle on two debates at once, or
- You can unlist it and try to get it off the article first, then worry about deletion.
It's really up to you; I would advise doing one thing at a time, but it's your call. Fléêťflämẽ U-T-C 11:47, 17 April 2008 (UTC)
