why is it that when I type wiki:gnome (or any member of the

Wikipediafauna) the page opens on http://c2.com/cgi/wiki?gnome (replace gnome with others)? rdunn 12:34, 9 December 2008 (UTC)[reply

That is a very good question. Apparently typing "wiki:" in the search box directs you to http://c2.com/. I doubt anyone responding to {{
village pump. Regards SoWhy 12:49, 9 December 2008 (UTC)[reply

After a bit of searching I found this page which shows the default default interwiki prefixes, which deines wiki: as taking one to the C2 site. See also m:Interwiki map. This is of course only half an answer. The reasoning behind why certain prefixes were chosen to go certain places is opaque, other than that the page states it was based on the "public interwiki map from MeatballWiki."--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 13:10, 9 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
(e/c) Asked and got the answer, see
here. Regards SoWhy 13:11, 9 December 2008 (UTC)[reply

I've already linked that page above and another. It answers the technical why, but not the larger question of why that prefix should go to that site.--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 13:26, 9 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
That's why I denoted an
edit conflict. I wanted to explain that I in fact did ask and got a reply at the village pump. As for the why, I have no idea either but it makes no sense at all which is why I requested it to be removed. Regards SoWhy 13:29, 9 December 2008 (UTC)[reply

2 things:

1st: is there a link to the blacklist of titles for articles that is viewable (I remember there was cannot find it again

2nd: why is it that Grawp is used alot?

rdunn 10:47, 16 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The title blacklist is here

"Grawp" is a vandal that creates attack pages and page moves so the title blacklist has to be modified to prevent such creation from occuring.

Commenting on that, you might also want to look at Wikipedia:Requests for checkuser/Case/Grawp to understand the reasoning. Regards SoWhy 11:03, 16 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
foo logo We are trying to see default distance in between text lines, and, see the distance in between cell content and its border and also see total height.
