File:Honey Ltd. - Eli's Coming 45 label scan.jpg listed for deletion

A file that you uploaded or altered,

Not sure why this is an issue. Scans of 7" singles seem to be commonly used to illustrate the label.

Article now mentions this 45 specifically so image use should be okay.

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Jerden 712 Label.jpeg

Thank you for uploading

image copyright tag
; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. Jack Ely

I saw your edit summary on this article, so I wanted to clarify that one source I was referring to was this NY Times obituary, which states: "Mr. Ely died on Tuesday at 71 at his home in Redmond, Ore." Not sure if this is more reliable than the other source you mentioned.

Hmmm -- looks like there definitely is a disagreement. I would usually tend to trust the local source, but the NYT is known for accuracy. I'll check with the Ely family. Thanks! Relbats (talk) 22:19, 30 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Excessive song covers

Please take a look at the guideline

WP:SONGCOVER
, which sets a high bar to inclusion. It's not enough that a cover version can be shown to exist, and it's not enough that the cover version was made by a notable musical artist. The reasoning behind the guideline is that we serve our readers best by showing them what is important. We are not here to compile an exhaustive list.

Also,

WP:ALBUMAVOID lists some sources that we have determined are unreliable. Discogs and 45cat are on that list. Binksternet (talk) 17:37, 23 September 2021 (UTC)[reply

Louie Louie - Thanks for the fix.

After I had made THIS EDIT to Louie Louie references I discovered that there was two different sources, same year and that I made things worse not better. I had an errand to run and was going to revert/fix my mistake when I returned, but you have done that already. Sorry that you had to spend energy and time doing that, but thanks for having my back out there just the same.

Information icon Hello. Your recent edit to Breedlove appears to have added the name of a non-notable entity to a list that normally includes only notable entries. In general, a person, organization or product added to a list should have a pre-existing article before being added to most lists. If you wish to create such an article, please first confirm that the subject qualifies for a separate, stand-alone article according to Wikipedia's notability guideline. Thank you. Replaceable non-free use File:Peter Blecha.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Peter Blecha.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of non-free use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of non-free use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{Di-replaceable non-free use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable non-free use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification, per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. -- Marchjuly (talk) 06:27, 20 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
