Puss in Boots' Giant Journey

Hey there! I hope you don't let the minor kerfuffle at the deletion discussion get you down. I think the discussion would have gone to a "merge" decision eventually, anyway. AND most of the time, even when lots of people have said "YES MERGE THEM PLZ," no one actually does, so it falls to other editors to do the chore. So, you may have been a little quick on the draw, but I really appreciate that you DID something.

There are a couple of things that need to be done for "housekeeping" before that merge is complete. User:Liz left the link to Wikipedia's merging procedures. I find those instructions a little intimidating, so I use this more streamlined list--don't fear, it's mostly copy & paste/fill in the blank stuff, but it's necessary to make sure we retain the history and attributions at the merged article.

 1. Add this to the Target Article in an edit summary: Merged content from source page to here. See Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/ARTICLENAME.
 2. Blank EVERYTHING on the source article and create a REDIRECT by adding #REDIRECT destination page R from merge
 3. Publish that new redirect page with this edit summary: Merged content to destination page. See Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/ARTICLENAME.
 4. Add this to the very top of the Talk page of the merged article (the one that is now a redirect), replacing the article name and the date destination page name
 5. Add this to the very top of the Talk page of the "merged into" article, replacing the article name and the date: source page name

If you'd like me to do this, or if you need some help, just let me know. Joyous! | Talk 17:23, 21 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Joyous!
Thank you so much! No worries, its all good.
Despite you providing the streamlined list, I'd prefer if you do it, if that's ok!

November 2022

Information icon Hello, I'm Ferret. I noticed that you recently removed content from Marvel Super Hero Squad (video game) without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. -- ferret (talk) 02:14, 25 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Ferret!
My apologies, that was indeed a mistake. I'm currently adding on to/re-working several "videogames-based-on-cartoons" pages at the same time, including that one.
I'll also be sure to utilize the
edit summary
, even when I purposefully remove sections/info. Still relatively new to editing on Wikipedia, so my apologies for any mess ups on my end.
Sincerely,
Saxon SMT153 (talk) 02:23, 25 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Warning icon Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to blank out or remove portions of page content, templates, or other materials from Wikipedia without adequate explanation, as you did at Hot Wheels Battle Force 5 (video game), you may be blocked from editing. -- ferret (talk) 03:24, 25 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Ferret,
Like I said, I'm trying to re-work a lot of articles from List of video games based on cartoons, but I now realize how making a bunch of quick & successive edits to a lot of those article came across as "disruptive," as its described on the Disruptive Editing page.
I removed portions from several of those pages, as there was simply no information available to add, or I deemed them unnecessary. I apologize for not providing an explanation for all of my recent edits, as I thought some of them didn't warrant an explanation, but if I need to explain -all- of my edits, then I'll gladly do so. Again, my apologies for being new and not knowing all of the basics.
The Hot Wheels page is an example of me helpfully re-working the bulletpointed "Features" list into a more cohesive Summary section. Feel free to reverse any of my edits that you deem disruptive, but please know that I'm just trying to help and have no ill-intent.
Sincerely,
Saxon SMT153 (talk) 03:45, 25 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
It's not about ill-intent. It's about disruptive results. I'm repeatedly finding that you're removing sourced content and inline citations without any explanation and with no appearance of improving the article. This isn't about your intentions, but about your results. -- ferret (talk) 03:53, 25 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Again, my apologies. The only time I purposefully and meaningfully removed sourced content/citations was the Bart Simpson article, as I tried to explain why in my Edit Explanation. If I somehow did that on another article, then I apologize and will refrain from removing other's citations, even if I deem them unnecessary or unavailable. I'll also be sure that I explain & improve an article if I chose to remove anything in the future.
Have a good remainder of your Thanksgiving & weekend. SMT153 (talk) 04:07, 25 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Greetings, Wiae!
Understood, thank you for re-wording/removing the info as necessary.
While I tried to re-word the phrasing in my www.insideuniversal.net/2017/08/the-closing-of-shrek-4d-a-42-year-history-of-past-and-present-attractions-part-2/ source, I now see how I should've re-worded it even more to be my own words proper (and only a *small* amount of it, as you said).
Sincerely,
Saxon SMT153 (talk) 03:23, 3 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, that's exactly right—I see you reworded most of the second paragraph, but there was some content copied in the first paragraph (the "Queue" section). Feel free to rewrite in your own words and re-add. Thanks! /wiae /tlk 03:27, 3 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Proper way to insert images in infoboxes

Hello @

WP:INFOBOXIMAGE
).

When adding an image to an infobox, thumbnails should NOT be used. Simply supplying the file name will work. For example, to use File:Image PlaceHolder.png, you can simply use |image=Image PlaceHolder.png. Captions should be specified with the |caption= parameter. Every infobox is different and the documentation for the infobox in question should be consulted for the proper parameters to match the image and caption.
To fix

Do not use the full image syntax:

|image=

Instead, just supply the name of the image. So, in this case you can simply do:

|image=SomeImage.jpg

and optionally:

|caption=Some image caption.

Hopefully you will find this information useful for your future editing. If you have any questions about this, feel free to ask. — Archer1234 (t·c) 16:55, 13 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Archer1234, Thank you for the info! That was my first attempt at inserting an image to an infobox, and I'll be sure to follow your instructions when doing so in the future. SMT153 (talk) 17:03, 13 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Sotermans! My aplogies, that was indeed a mistake. Accidentally copied & published the (not final) draft of my re-writing of the Bowser's Challenge section that excluded some of its upcoming locations. I'll be sure to upload the version I meant to publish that doesn't exclude any info. Thanks! SMT153 (talk) 14:52, 21 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Waxworker,
Understood, thank you for letting me know! I'll be sure to not use MobyGames and abandonware sites as a source in the future. Thank you for removing them from the Ugh article. SMT153 (talk) 00:26, 9 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions, but in one of your recent edits to ai_sponge, it appears that you have added original research, which is against Wikipedia's policies. Original research refers to material—such as facts, allegations, ideas, and personal experiences—for which no reliable, published sources exist; it also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. Should be careful about combining sources: the Uberduck blog doesn't mention ai_sponge, so can't serve as a source confirming that ai_sponge has (a) shut down at all and (b) was shut down because of the Uberduck issue. Belbury (talk) 10:13, 31 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Belbury! Understood, thank you for the info. Despite ai_Sponge being an extremely popular project, the only source I could find for it's Uberduck-related shutdown is...the Discord server (which I obviously can't use as a source). I tried to make-do with the UberDuck blog, knowing that still wouldn't suffice. As soon as a verified article discussing sponge_ai's shutdown is released, I'll be sure to add it!
