NPOV
You ask about NPOV. Yes, I fucking wrote part of it. My fingerprints are in there. I've been here since 2003, and finally registered in 2005. You might benefit from reading one of my essays about NPOV:
- Ah, so using biased sources is the right thing to do in this case? Whatever you say: you have seniority. Shankar Sivarajan (talk) 01:17, 19 December 2018 (UTC)
- There is no requirement in NPOV to use unbiased sources. Besides, they're rare and boring as hell. We are supposed to document the "sum of all human knowledge" (Jimbo Wales). That includes biased opinions.
- NPOV refers primarily to editorial bias, not to source bias. Editors must not allow their own bias to censor sources. That would be Wikipedia taking sides. No, we must document the bias in the source. We give more weight to the bias found in important and accurate RS. Minority views and bias get less weight. The fringe and inaccurate bias found in unreliable sources gets ignored, unless it is documented in RS, and then it gets some minor mention, because of its minor due weight. -- talk) PingMe 05:34, 19 December 2018 (UTC)]
We don't need to source obvious facts such as the people who were in the Americas before Columbus
That's why they are called Indigenous peoples of the Americas. I have no idea what you were thinking when you did that. Doug Weller talk 13:48, 16 February 2019 (UTC)
- The claim is not that there were people here before Columbus; that is obvious. That they were the first is not. It may not even be true. That they're called "indigenous" today means absolutely nothing.
- That article starts "The indigenous peoples of the Americas are the Pre-Columbian peoples of North, Central and South America and their descendants." Some of them may have had no descendants, that doesn't make the statement wrong. If you want to challenge text at Indigenous peoples of the Americas do it there. April 2024
Hello. This is a message to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions, such as the edit(s) you made to Arbeitslager, did not appear to be constructive and have been reverted. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make test edits, please use your sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. Your redirect makes no sense, the Nazi concentration camps (konzentrationslager) were administratively separate from the Arbeitslager. Now, well meaning editors have fixed double redirects and bypassed others, meaning a lot of links go to the wrong place and actively contributing to confusion on this topic. Please don't redirect concepts you don't fully understand. (t · c) buidhe 01:48, 24 April 2024 (UTC)
