Hello friend! Thanks. It feels like I've been away ages. Well it wasn't just his comment -I'm tired of people trying to put me off and I think it is unneccesary to be cynical to others. My talk page is not a dumping ground for such comments and despite my warnings people still come and try to put me off the site!. I am very surprised that nobody has continued with the French town project much; it seems to have come to a stand still for whatever reason, wow I didn't realise people that some people were inspired by my work and was a factor in making them contribute. If in any way I do encourage other editors then this is a great thing and will make me feel like doing the best that I can for people. A couple of days ago there were five editors at least actively adding them. Amazing - people have started adding working on the french articles already in the last few minutes!!! That must be a coincidence surely?

It is always the content and potential of the site and the kindness of the editors I like so much on here that outshines any negative aspects of wikipedia. If only there were more editors like yourselves. I;m so happy for you that the dark cloud has been lifted off Zinta and she has been promoted. I am certain it could be an FA in a few weeks and then you'll be rocking!! But all in your own time, you probably need a breather from it.

Not if they are just views and there isn't any concievable evidence to justify it. A historical accuracy section is very useful but it can be tricky writing it so it doesn't appear POV or disputable. Perhaps you could write it as "historians such as .... have argued that ... was never married to .... as depicted in the film although there is little evidence to confirm this". Something like that perhaps. I think you both mean to improve the article but I agree, this editor needs to be aware of all the points you brought up and to avoid looking too much into it and to write it from a neutral and balanced neutral viewpoint e.g "historians have speculated" rather than something was something. Glad you like it, see what I mean about those niggling little editors. I have a teenage wrestling fan on my case called Nimi something or other who according to him no admin on wikipedia thinks anything of me or my work and there isn;t an admin who wouldn't delete my efforts. He has repeatedly hounded my talk page the last half an hour

EXACTLY!! Thats why he mentioned it to insult me - because he had seen the previous question and answer on the talk pages - i think he was not happy with me telling the other editor it doesn;t concern me in the slightest that a boy is tagging my articles for deletion as we all know what the outcome will be, so he retaliated. I could certainly use admin tools at times, but becoming an admin would put me out of focus on concentrating on adding content, which I feel is the most important and what this site is about -too many people get put off from this. I don't feel I need a badge to establish status and would rather feel freer, although it would certainly give these trespassers more respect for me initally. I've seen relatively new editors rush to make them get around 10,000 edits and rush to do some good chores and then have somebody to request them for adminship. I'm not mentioning any names, but I've seen a couple of admins promoted this way within a relatively short space of time.

Sure thing buddy I'll have a look now. I'm just in the middle of sorting out a huge mess somebody created with the Armenian towns. Nearly every one has the wrong coordinates and no map and I;ve used google at least a hundred times this afternoon to retrieve them from the various satellite map websites!! The person who created the mess is unwilling to correct his mistakes.

It reminds of me of my A-level history course and how important is was to weigh up the findings of different historians and to strictly avoid discussing speculation as fact.

I've been back a few days and already I've had several afds thrown at me and somebody telling me what a state one of my new articles was and to strongly recomend I db-author it. Why do they do this to me?

Thankyou. I just don't know why people have to be so rude and awkward. All they have to do is nicely ask me to try to expand something or tell me the article already exists but no they have to afd something straight away or poke fault with it. They just won't learn that any articles I have created are always kept and that they are wasting their time trying to get in the way. If I could translate from all these peculiar languages such as Estonian and Norwegian I would!!! Its only because I care about even coverage on here.

Wikipedia word count is now over 986,000,000. In a week or two it'll hit 1 billion words which is monumental I think. i update the wikipedia main page every week-10 days or so and since Feb 20 when I last did it we've added 27,000 articles and 12 million words

Well thats the superpower of these Bollywood stars ; they are magnets to investors and commercial enterprises and being associated with a name like that brings in the dough. Look at David Beckham -global advertising brand as big as Coca Cola and McDonalds. Companies go crazy for these people. David and Victoria Beckham hands down are the most hyped couple of the last 30 years. How they've got to where they are is a miracle.

Yes it was great -its merging into spring here and getting warmer and getting gradually lighter in evneings -always a sign summer is coming! I've allocated some time to Italian cinema today -I get dizzy headache when I see the red links and missing films in the filmographies. Literally 99.5% of all articles are missing. I wonder what it would take to get them all onto here and all of them written into GA class articles. 500 years?

I was kidding lol, it would take centuries to do that lol! But I can certainly try to fill in the picture a bit when I have got some time. I reckon in terms of decent content or potential articles that could be written into beuatiful articles if enough sources were found and sheer amount of missing films and cinema characters has to be France and Italy. Right from the early twentieth century there are truckloads of missing articles.

Unfortunately there are only a handful of editors who have developed Italian film on here and I don't know what has happneed to them these days. Rohmerin rarely edits anymore I don't think, and my old amico User:Attilios the Italian who also shares my love of Italian architecture and art I haven't spoken to him in ages. Which is frankly not good enough given the world reach of wikipedia. But as you said before most normal editors only edit the films they have seen and most of the people likely to have seen these films are Italian and work on Italian wikipedia. I;m different in that I want to increase my knowledge of films beyond my knowledge and expand on what I have seen and in more detail.

Yes you are a Jewish family then? I wasn't sure if you were Hindu - what is it then your father is Israeli and your mother Indian, is this correct? My grandfather and two of my aunties look very much like they are from Israel, you can see the Jewish in my dad also, he had black hair when he was younger (now grey) but has blue eyes (and a typical middle eastern moustache too lol).

Yes his middle name was Reuben and he looked exactly like a rabbi lol (as an old man)!!! Almost sterotypically so. He died 15 years ago but nobody seems to know much about the Jewish side of the family unfortunately. From what my dad told me he thinks it was my great great grandfather who emigrated to France from the eastern europe/middle east and married a Hugeunot French woman. They later moved to London. The french and jewish ancestry is quite clear on my dad's side of the family - incidentally his middle name is Deland which is obviously French and an extremely rare name in the UK.

On my mums side I have Swedish and Scottish ancestry, this is also obvious with how I look anyway. On her side most of the people are tall with fairer hair and skin and blue eyes. It is indeed very interesting tracing your family. I've seen some British celebrities like

I tell you what I'm getting sick and tired of not having admin tools. Its ridiculous that I don't have them. Some of my flickr images I uploaded now have been tagged for deletion in the commons, Riana is now doing little to help because she is always busy, and i tag my own articles for deletion it is days before somebody sees that I might have some idea of whether the places exists and eventually deletes it. If I had admin tools I could do thing a LOT LOT more quickly and effciently. Its doing my head in not having the ability to do certian things when I clearly am more active than most of the admins on here

Oh its not vandalism I am concerned about in this respect -I have roll back which is the only tool I have. Its trusting me to sort out articles and to make flickr agreements. Imagine how many agreements i could quickly make if they just let me contact people at flickr and authorise clearance. I sick of waiting weeks and not getting a reply from the commons and then getting a message from some commons editor who only logs into the project once a week that my images have not got the ticketing, when I could have it OTRS ticketed the minute I receive permission. It is seriously inhibiting how productive I am particularly with images. I have done tens times more than many admins on here to coordinate this project and I find it a bit silly that they can't give me the authorisation to do things which will be very beneficial to this project

I wouldn't mind becoming an admin if I was allowed to continue as I have been before and not feel under any obligation to patrol vandalism or recent changes or continuously attend wiki councils or whatever. If I just had the tools and could continue editing on what I feel is important -actual content and occasionally intervene or whatever where I need to this would be best. But something tells me all those niggling editors who I have run into in the past would oppose it and find several examples of where I have been in their eyes "uncivil" and I'd end up looking foolish. The Sravagnya brigade for one would oppose straight away.

Well I'm sure most people would support, some probably even strongly but all I ask for is the ability for people to trust my judgement with deletions and images with flickr. I don't know if you have noticed but in the new pages because I am not an admin my new articles have to be checked like a beginner whereas admins some with 1/15th of my edits have their articles automatically patolled as if they were a superior creature!!! I'll see what John thinks when he returns after the Easter break and whether somebody could think about giving me one or two tools extra

Perhaps but I don't want to get bogged down with wiki councils and well... administration. I'm not here to administer people, I'm here to enhance this freakishly large site beyond belief and build something never seen before. I would be last person who could careless about "abusing" his admin rights to block enemies etc, so if they just gave me the tools it can only help. Personally I think the fact I've created almost double the content than anybody in the history of wikipedia (and 134,000 edits) should account for something

Well the work i do on wikipedia - stubbing en masse, recategorization, tagging, template adding etc, with geo, film and cultural articles maximizes my edit count probably more than any other subject on wikipedia so its just a figure. If only edit count equates to pounds or dollars!!!!

I've been reading over your user page and I find some of the commentary on Indian cinema interesting. A lot of it I agree with: Manisha is a great actress especially in those more sullen less glamorous roles (Bombay, Dil Se) although her skill even kept me watching Market and Escape From Taliban *shudders*. But really you like Karisma and Preity? Preity was fine in Dil Se because she was sort of an annoying foil to Manisha. She was better in Kal Ho Naa Ho... maybe because she wasn't right next to Manisha which will obviously make her look bad :) I'll have to watch Fiza.

And I just noticed you listed me on your page :O That's nice... but, I'm not a good editor. Best work I did was the grunt work of film infoboxes. Zora on the other hand... she was a great editor and it's sad that she completely left... :/
