Hello

Yeah, of course I remember you. And good work keeping the Zinta article at FA level. Personally, all I've been doing is basically working on the Christian and religious content, which is still a large amount of content of course. Not particularly fond of the local weather lately, but nothing else particularly noticable. Luckily, the seizures haven't recurred at all, although I have noticed that I do at times lose my temper a bit faster lately, which I sincerely regret on several fronts. I guess things are pretty much as good in general as an old geezer like me can expect. Any particular reason that I occurred to you? If there is anything I could help with, believe me, it would probably be a welcome break from the list of NRMs and other things I've been working on lately. John Carter (talk) 14:08, 22 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

At this point, having myself reverted the two articles, it might be problematic for me to protect them myself. Having said that, the IP would have to break 3RR to change them back, and I could easily revert him, and then have the page protected by someone else, should the behavior continue. John Carter (talk) 15:09, 22 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
In a case like that, I would follow the phrasing given in the award presentation itself. If they say "Name of writer", for "Name of film", then I'd put the writer before the film, and reverse it if they say the name of the film first. But I don't think copying their own phrasing, if it is consistent, could get any sort of objection from anyone. John Carter (talk) 15:28, 22 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
That sounds good to me. John Carter (talk) 15:37, 22 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Filmr

I noticed your revert on Template:Filmr. Our edits (Rich Farmbrough and I) were made because I saw a deprecation template on Template:Filmrationale, saying that {{Filmr}} had been deprecated. I now see that the same user, Brandon, also tagged {{Filmr}} but you reverted him there. He also tagged Template:Boilerplate music cover fur at the same time, and was not reverted there. Have you been in touch with this editor? Was there any basis for tagging these templates as deprecated? I have seen no hint of discussion at any of these templates' talkpages. Which is strange, because Brandon is an active admin. Debresser (talk) 01:38, 27 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your reply on my talkpage. Since you don't mind, I'll continue with the deprecation of {{Filmr}} and {{Boilerplate music cover fur}}. I am not sure about {{Filmrationale}} though, for reasons I mentioned on Brandon's talkpage. Debresser (talk) 10:28, 27 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Kambakkht Ishq - boxofficemojo

As far as I see, domestic on boxofficemojo means the United States and in the foreign box office revenues page for Kambakkht Ishq (http://www.boxofficemojo.com/movies/?page=intl&id=kambakkhtishq.htm) India is not listed whereas for other movies like Delhi-6, Ghajini, etc India and the corresponding revenues are clearly mentioned in the foreign box office revenues page. Therefore, saying worldwide is highly misleading in Kambakkht Ishq's case. Amol1186 (talk) 18:03, 3 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Himalayan 16:50, 6 October 2009 (UTC)[reply

I've just finished watching krrish. I really enjoyed it. LOL I don't see any resemblance between krishna and rohit do you? LOL. Dr. Arya looks like an Indian George Bush. Something about having eyes too close together, never trust a man with rodent eyes LOL. Priya's friend Honey looks like a tart I saw on a street corner in Bangkok LOL.

Himalayan 14:01, 16 October 2009 (UTC)[reply

Yeah I've been busy! Yeah I saw an interview with Aishwarya Rai on David Letterman and he was so arrogant towards her and ignorant towards the langagues she speaks and was pretty much mocking Bollywood films for always being musicals. Not all Americans are like Letterman (thank god) but some of the people in the media from the states certainly do give an impression that they don't care about other cultures... There are many many people in the UK too who are this way so we shouldn't really generalise but also remember there is a big Asian/Indian community in the UK, especially in the main cities so that probably adds to its success..

Himalayan 15:28, 16 October 2009 (UTC)[reply
]

Yeah she did, in fact she embarrassed Letterman and exposed his ignorance, not herself.. LOL now why wasn't Koena Mitra in fashion?

Himalayan 15:41, 16 October 2009 (UTC)[reply
]

Can you give me the url link to fashion on youtube?

Himalayan 15:57, 16 October 2009 (UTC)[reply
]

I'm half way through but I really hate the fashion industry. Bunch of self-obsessed, selfish, shallow minded people if you ask me. People like Victoria Beckam and those sort of folk from Ugly Betty really bug me, especially the blokes in fashion with their hair tonged spikes and camp shirts .

Himalayan 19:59, 16 October 2009 (UTC)[reply
]

Finished! I enjoyed the film, not very original story though although it is usually about an actor or rock star in that scenario. Ambitious, arrogant wannabee goes places becomes a huge star, can't deal with fame, gets too big for their own boots, goes out of control in drink and drugs, becomes a psycho for a while, goes into rehab, tries to make a fresh start. I didn't expect the overdose though, (I had expected her to overdose or commit suicide much earlier in the film actually) when she came back I expected them to both maeke it back up to the top again and learned from their mistakes. I wonder why when watchign the film I thought I wonder how surreal it would be to Kate Moss! I bet she has experienced practically everything that happened. I love Priyanka, those brown eyes look so sweet and innocent, beautiful girl. LOL was it me or did the "super daddy" of the fashion industry look like Roger Federer with a short haircut and glasses? Did you notice the chemistry between him and Priyanka, safe to say he has majorly got the hots for her.

Can you link me another good full Bollywood film on youtube with subtitles?

Himalayan 22:08, 16 October 2009 (UTC)[reply
]

Wow thanks that'll keep me busy. Are you sure YouTube has the full films and subtitles for all of these? LOL why does Jab We Met sound dirty to me. When I glance at it I think of a wet fantasy LOL I always read it as Jab Me Wet, sounds like a blue movie..

Oh I do like non realistic films, I like Bond don't I! They are fun although if they are too cheesy I might roll my eyes... Fashion luckily wasn't too bad in this respect, I enjoyed it. I thought she put in a good performance, did you notice though how quickly she realised her life was in ruin, . She slept with one guy only, I gahter than subject is taboo in Indian cinema! Unlike Kate Moss...

Speaking of another Mallika [1]. I must admit it does seme to me that a lot of the actresses in Bollywood come across as very powerful ambitious women in interviews. I don't know if it because she has so pretty that they feel they have something to prove on the intelligence front but they seem to have a bit of an attitude. I thought the same of Shilpa Shetty. Shetty, Rai, Zinta, Kareena Kapoor, Sherawat, Chopra etc all come across as intelligent but very ballsy with what they say, it could be misinterpreted by some people as arrogance but I think to get where they are in Bollywood they not only have to have Grade A looks but have to have that sort of strong will to succeed and confidence.

Some person keeps editing Katrina's father origin from "Kashmiri" to "Indian." We have Katrina saying he is Kashmiri (I added a citation from an interview), but is there a source saying he is from Kashmir, India specifically? That way we can have it as "Kashmiri Indian" to appease everyone and get it right. AyanP (talk) 05:13, 2 November 2009 (UTC)Ayan[reply]

I know, beautiful, tall girl with the rest of her life ahead of her... (Totally not my type though, way too miserable and sadistic, I don't generally find Korean women very attractive admittedly evne though I like many Asian women) One can only imagine how much pressure they face. Modelling would seem like one of the easiest professions known to man but they are definately under a lot of pressure and stress. Over their figures especially, its disgusting how Ralph Lauren said she was too fat. Kate Moss recently said her motto is "nothing tastes better than skinny" which has caused a storm over here in the national news headlines and everything even on TV. Just enticing more and more aspiring young girls to become anorexic. Horrible profession. That film had a lot of poignancy as this sort of thing does happen.... I'm OK, I was exploring Google Street View in London earlier. Really great resource! Sometime I'll get around to watching those films. Actually I'll move them from my archive into my to-do list, I haven't forgotten!
