Hi, the issue of VK as a reliable source is likely to have ramifications beyond the Alexandra Elbakyan article, so I've started a thread on the RS noticeboard. You can follow and contribute to it if you like: Wikipedia:Reliable sources/Noticeboard#vk.com.
As you know, I don't believe it to be a reliable source, at least for unverified accounts like the one being cited; but if the consensus is that it is, I'm alright with leaving it.

Looks like the upshot is that, even with the VK account not being a verified account, with Elbakyan's own site validating it by referencing it, it's a legitimate source, at least for what Elbakyan is claiming.
